miscellaneous expenses. Fop hospitals
and medicines, $157,000,000 is appropri
ated. Vor gathering information, the
general staff asks $2,000,000. Ammuni
tion will cost $390,000,000 and machine
guns, $237,000,000. The stupendous
amounts will cost Uncle Sam about $37,-
600,000 a day.
