Wo have three Interesting communications
in this issue; all of which wero intended to
have been published last week, but owing to
the failure of our blank paper in reaching us

the railroad, these troubles aro sometimes
unavoidable, and no one regiets it more than
we.
There is every roason to believo that with
the beginning of tb# next session of Cleveland
High School, that it will be more encouraging
than has haretofora been the case with schools
in this plaoe. Pr >(. G, W. Scroggs seoms de¬
termined to build up a good school on its own
moeit, and ho asks the hearty co-operation of
the public generally throughout tho county.
We have long felt tho need of a good school
in our town, and now if wo fail iu gotting it,
it is our own fault.
Some repairs boing done on the Ceurt bonse
and much more needed. If thero is not some¬
thing done soon to prevont the dirt washing
away from tho foundation, a now houso will
have to be built,
Mr. II. L. Harper, who is now, or has been
this week, plastering inside and out on the
Court house, whould no doubt take the con¬
tract of building a wall around the houso on
very reasonable terms, and would do it well.
This wall would be a good foundation on which
t build a fence, and it ought to be done, and
that soon. It would be much cheaper than to
build a court house.
THE SELLER SOLD.
In a neighboring town, not a hundred years
ago, a young lady attempting to “sell out” a
young man who had recently entered a storo i
as clerk, by asking for various artieles, such
double bladed hand-saws etc., and finally she
asked for aloft handed wattr bucket, when the
young man, unnesitatlngly drew from under
the counter a vessel usually kept under the bed
in privato chambers, and presented it to bi3
inquisitive customer. We leave the reader to
imagine what followed.
