Teachers’ Meeting
Held Yesterday
Program Carried Out at
Coopervllle and Gathering Was
Very Enthusiastic One.
Despite the dreadful weather of
Friday, at Cooperville high school the
teachers of Baldwin county enjoyed one
of the most pleasant meetings in their
history. Prof, and Mrs. Hammontree
and Miss Leone Etheridge entertained
the \ isiting teachers and made the oc-.
casion one of much pleasure.
Rev. Lamar Sims made an address
along educational linos that was very
eloquent and forceful, impressing his
healers with the demonstrative argu
ments he used. Prof. Reynolds, presi
dent of the G. M. C., also made address
and, of course, it was well received as
Prof. Reynolds is one of the best known
educators in the state.
Supt. R. N. Lamar made an appro
priate talk and on the whole the day
was an enjoyable and instructive one.
The next meeting will be held near Ste-
uens’ Pottery at Salem school in April
and State school Commissioner Jere M.
Pound will be among the speakers on
that occasion.

IN THE SPANISH
AMERILAN WAR
During the Spanish American War
many of our soldiers suffered severely
from cramp in the stomach and bowels,
due in most cases to the change of clim
ate and the water they were obliged to
drink.
Mr. Geo. A. Lake, of Dennison, Tex
as, gives an interesting account of how
he came to the relief of some of the men
in his regiment: —“Just as I was start
ing for the war,” says Mr. Lake, “Mr.
Davis gaye me a large bottle of Sloan's
Liniment. I used it in our troop at
Camp Mobrey for ciamps and dysente
ry among the men. It took finely
and lots of the boys of Troop L. 1st Tex
Cav. U, S. V., will never forget the
name of Sloan,s Liniment. One case in
j particular was our bugler. Fred Orm*
sley; he was cramped until he could
hardly stand it. 1 gave him a dose of
Slcan’s Liniment and in five minutes he
was up and ready to go on with the
troop.”
Every druggist carries Sloan’s Lini
ment in sto k. You can get it in 25c,
50c, or $1.00 sired bottles. It’s a good
thing to have in the house for rheuma
tism, toothache, soiethroat, asthma
and any pain or stiffness.

AN ELECTRIC R. R. FOR MILLEDGE
VILLE.
Some weeks ago you saw an article in
the paper on this proposition. We are
now reaay for work. Do you want this
much needed public convenience and
are you ready to help it along and help
yourself in a material way? If so how
much Capital Stock can you take at
♦ 100 a share? When we have organized
we can fill out Bonds to suit amout that
we may need at 6 per. cent. We are
most sanguine, when we say that this
will be a good investment. Figure for
yourself and be convinced and thereby
help yourself and our growing city.
See the undersigned if you are in
terested, in case you fail to do so you.
will be sorry. L. D. Coggin.
