NEWARK BASEBALL TEAM
PROPERTY OF McGINTY
Geo, H. Stallings, manager of the new
Yurk American baseball club, has sold
the Newark baseball team, which is
practicing in Milledgeville, to McGintv,
“the Iron Man,” formerly of the New
York club. The transfer of the fraiv-
ehise of the club has caused consider
able comment, much of it of a com
plaining nature, owing to the fact that
it was made just at the beginning of
the new season.
It is understood that the price receiv
ed by Sta’lings was $60,000, which gave
him a neat profit of some $10,000 over
the reported price he paid for it. The
transfer puts several players in dif
ferent positions and John Wagnon, well
known local player, is now considered
the property of the New York Amer
icans and not of the Newark team.
