All join in extending wishes for a happy and prosperous life. Walker-Richard Full of interest and quite a surprise was the marriage of Mrs. Lucy P. Wal ker and Dr. J. 3. Richard here Thurs day morning at 7:15 o’clock, the cere- money taking place at the homo of the bride’s mother on Liberty street. Mrs. Richard is well known here as one of tl,e most popular ladies of the city and Dr. Richard is equally well known, being a dentist at the Sanita rium. Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for Florida where they will visit relatives of Dr. Richard, re turning to make their home here. Mr. J. H. Greenleaf, of Tampa, Fla., was in Milledgeville Monday with his bride, enroute to North Carolina where he is connected with the Jno. W. Ray Company. The marriage was quite ro mantic, Miss Helen Anlrews of Tampa coming up to meet him in Macon where the ceremony was performed. Miss Julia Ernest, who lias been spending hor vacaion witli her mother, Mrs. K. It. Foster, has gone to spend a month in Mansfield. La. Miss Mary Tate’Griftln, of Atlanta. Visited Miss Bertha Du Bose last week. A crowd of voung folk, chaperoned by Miss Nell Fowler, enjoyed a delight ful day at the country home of Mr. R. L Wall last Friday. Miss Gladys Napier is a favorite visi tor in Milledgeville this week, the guest of several friends who claim her for theR own. Mr. Walter R. Whitehead anl Mr. A. C. Cockrell left Sunday for their homes in Louisville, MisB., after having com pleted a thorough course in bookkeep ing in the Business Department of the Georgia Military College. They have also completed the required course at the American Cot* on College. Their many newly made friends in Georgia wish for them the success in the buti- r.esg world, which they, by their studi- ousness and gentlemanly bearing, to highly deserve. Little Miss Sadie Daniel entertained twenty-five of her little friends last Thursday afternoon on her ninth birth day. After enjoying a peanut hunt delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. J. Id. Lord and little son are guests of Mrs. Ashley S.nith. It is reported that the price of post cards will advance in the near future if 1 continued patronage by somebody in town continues, owing to the absence of a fair visitor to the central city. Last Thursday afternoon, a host of friends were entertained de lightfully by Mrs. Emmett L. Barnes, at her liomepr South Clurko St. Mrs. Barnes received her guests in white, and then directed them to the parlor and dining room. The parlor was artistical ly decorated with handsome ferns and vases of exquisite pink roses. The din ing room an 1 [ porch was made most beautiful with sunflowers, ferns and other growing plants. j Different games wore played, Domino, ; Flinch, Tumbler, Crokonole, Campaigno j and others. After the ladies had enjoyed a num- I her of games; a salad course and a sweet course was then served. Those serving were Missss Benita Allen, Florence Stemhridge and Genie Claire Barnes. They were dressed in white gowns, wearing minature sun flowers in their hair, thereby carring out the color scheme, yellow and white. The ladies took their departure ex pressing themselves as being very much pleased with their afternoon’s -'easure. A guest. 'Ihe menus of M'\ and Mrs. John J. Barrett are congratulating them upon the arrival of a permanent visitor at their homo. Little Miss Barrett will no doubt be a favorite in Milledgeville sixteen years from now, for already she has been the recipient of many kindly attentions. A bouncing boy was a present at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rouerson on Wednesday. Little Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Greene is down with the measles. Rev. J. T. About twenty couples were present, including several of the married contingent of the city's social set and the occasion was one of much pleasure. Messrs. Carter Franklin and Walter Cook, of Covington, were visitors to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edwards R. Hines last night. < • ”.'srw**| The Young Women’s Auxilary of the Baptist church will give a peanut party to the young folk of the town on the court house lawn next Monday after noon and the small admission price of only five c snts will be charged. A de lightful time will no doubt be spent by all attending. Mrs. Edward R. Hines is hostess this week co a charming galaxy of visiting girls, including Misses Annelle and Ellyne Franklin, of Mansfield, Mabel Lawrence, and Annie Clyde Wright, of Atlanta, all of whom are exceedingly popular young ladies, adding much to tha seciai delights of the city. Misses Ruth and Nena Turner, of McDonough, are the attractive guests of Miss Hattie Pottie this week. Miss Neil VanBuren, of Griswold- ville, is the charming and popular guest of Miss Roberta Horne. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Montgomery are congratulating them on the arrival of two gplendid young visitors who will make their future home in Milledgeville. They are Ford McKee Montgomery and John Croley Montgomery. Tom and Leon Callaway, accompani ed bv their mother and her sister will leave soon on a trip by automobile to Baltimore, Md. then to Lansing, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Napier, from lower Baldwin were welcome guests «t the dance Tuesday evening. They have an enviable reputation for their excellent hospitality at the elegant country home.
