()\ til 9\ $ GOODMAN'!; UiWOOTTEN* R\. Jl\ theatrical Attractions • Here Exceptionally Fine ! For the first time in the history of j Milledgeville the public are being I given a splendid line of productions | in the way of plays at the Opera House- "The Lion and the Mouse 1 ** was excel lent play and the attendance was all that could be desired, hollowing came "Lena Rivers" and it was as good as any play of its tvpe could be. Of course, "Coburn’s Minstrels” were al] to the good and Pat Crawford as the "Man From Dixie” wasalright. Bung a real southerner makes him better still. On ahead are some of the best plays yet. "Polly of the Circus” is coming and other shows of high type. The News is printing this as a news article from a critical standpoint. It is not alvertising the Opera House, for frankly speaking from the newspaper standpoint tho management can claim noth ng from this pajer, Our job department issues the programs, we carry their paid advertisements. How-1 ever, in all fairness wo can sav we know the Opera House is operated as a sort of charitable institution for the people of Milledgeville, but certain'v not to The News and in no city in the state are such scant courtesies afforded j newspapers. Yet there is no complaint made, though we want to reiterate our I statement and wish to add that our object is simply to commend tho man agement "for the shows furnished. Wei are out of the narrow channel of I selfishness and make this statement for public good -the good of our read-1 ers who may wish to see real good shows. I Moran & Wilkinson „ ^ Wilkinson Street ^ aesaaaaaea aaaaaaarj Alter Four Years Wailiiifj I Tailor Made Suit Delivered A story that ia probably without paralled in this section of the country was brought out last Saturday when Mr. (leo. W. Barr, the well known tailor of this city, had a telephone call from a customer who ordered a suit of clothes four years ago. The suit was made, but in the press of circumstance the customer found himself unable to pay for the luxury of a tailor-made suit. However, time went on and by earnest endeavor the delinquent man accumu lated money and last Sunday he wore the suit made up so long ago. But the good of the story, along with the fuct that it shows thut men are growing better, is that the coat was one of the first of the present style cuts made just after short coats were abandoned by those who go by style. In the mean time Mr. Barr is sporting forty five in the coin of the realm. Tit: Me. i : m tsJ tfi ft! ft?
