Mr. Ha r.r- Edwards rushing Proicnl

Join In National Movement.

A couple of weeks ago attention was
called through theolumns ot The News
to the great improvement being made
in corn growing over the country and
incidentally alluded to an iITort on the
part of Mr. Warren Edwards to inter
est the county school commissioners in
this section of the state in a co-opera
tive movement fora corn show. This
is generally regarded with favor over
the whole country and will no douht be
a good thing from every standpoint.
Mr. Edwards writes ti e following this
week to The News:
Editor of Milledgeville News:
1 am anxious to see a District Corn
Club organized by the County School
Commts ioners of Baldwin, Putman,
Jones, Hancock, Washington and Wilk
inson Counties, and an exhibition given
in Milledge, ille in October next, time
enough to forward the prize winning
growets of corn to the National Corn
Exhibition that is given every year at
Omaha, Neb.
There are corn growers who make
exhibits with 10 earn of corn and carry
off prizcB equal to $10,000, cash.
From what little I have seen of the
west 11 m convinced that wc have land
in this section that will grow Corn
equally if not superior to tho west. The
Natiunnl Government offers good c.t...
prizes and in addition to this, the mer
chants of Milledgeville, 1 know will
make up a liberal purse. 1 will for one
will gadly subscribe. 1 want you to
lake up this important matter. Let me
assist you in my humble way in curry
ing out this movement.
I want to see more corn in Baldwin
and the surrounding counties.
If the people of the North and East
know our land, know our climate and
local conditions, when we get up in the
morning and put on a pair of Northern
shoes, we would not put on an acre of
land when if comes to prices.
1, with others, attended the National
Nut Growers Convention at Albany,
Ga. last fall, and 1 am not saving to
much for tho soil of Baldwin County
when I say that we gathered nuts from
Pecan Trees, four yeurs set, that I am
not afraid nor ashamed to sit down by
the side of older men who grow nuts
and gather them from older trees.
We have the land and we want the
men to grow corn and 1 want to assist
in stimulating a big corn crop in the
above counties in the year 1910.
Sincerelv voirs,
Warren Edwards.

Strength Gives 1
■Ordinary tonics that merely
supply food material and give ar
tificial strength by stimulation are
never lasting in their effects be
cause they do not remove tho
causa of the ill health.
A “run down” conditon is
generally due to the failure of the
digestive organs to properly di
gest the food.
DR. D. JAYNE’S
TONICVERMIFUGE
tones up the Btomach and other
digestive organs, and restores
their normal, healthy condition.
Then the digestive organs sup
ply the body with its full share
of nourishment, and in this way
build up permanent health
