The Close of The Conference Year.
In fifteen days our report must
go, and all of the money for the fiscal
year 1909. What have we "rendered
unto the Lord" is an olfi:or and as
members of the Home Missionary
Society. Are our viewe boader for
service to God’s children who are be
nighted, friendless fallen, and immi
grants to our schooles. Have we paid
in full our dues twenty-five cents for
conference expense, and averaged the
extra two cents per week for our
schools.
Sir William Mackworth Young, of
England, said there is no influence
comparable to that of mission schools
and colleges upon the rising youth of
the present generation.
This statement can be confirmed in
every mission station of the Christain
church.
Mrs. Sam P. Jones, of Cartersville,
Ga. gives very interesting news from
their auxiliary, that they have strong
active workers one-third of the mem
bership tithe. And that they lave
done such fine local work.
One of the best things on this lir e
is work among the col ired pe< pie.
The committee on this work him or
ganized a Normal Sunday School Class.
Home Missionary Society ttiey meet

'.Ve believe every bouI that has been
redeemed by Christ is interested in
bringing the knowledge of Christ to
others, this spirit may lie downcast or
be smothered by ignorance but with
increased interest in a few the flame
will be fanned into a bright blaze, and
result in more liberal and systematic
offerings.
The National Association states that
there are in the United States more
than 300,000 consumptives who are so
poor that they cannot pay for proper
medical treatment. For these people
the entire county has prvided 10,000
beds for the free treatment of tuber
culosis.
It is our aim to tesch the coming
generation to live such pure lives, and
to learn how to help stamp out this
disease.
