OUR SMOG lie TELLS ABOUT G.
M. E. PROSPECTS FOR COMING SEASON
YES!
YES!
BY MARION WHITFIELD,
Get Well
If you are sick, you wish to get well, don’t you?
Of course you do. You wish to be rid of the pain and
| misery, and be happy again. I
If your illness is caused by female trouble, you
can quickly get the right remedy to get well. It’s |
Cardui. This great medicine, for women, has re
lieved or cured thousands of ladies, suffering like |
you from some female trouble.
Baseball practice started at G. M. C.
this week. Professor E. N. Reynolds
will coach the team.
The first question that people ask is
what kind of a team we’re going to
have, but as a fellow expressed it the
other day: "What you got to make a
team out of up there?”
The answer was thac heretofore
we’ve been using human beings but
that cross eyed brick bats are to be
substituted this year. If you are a
stranger and ask how many candidates
are trying for the team, I’ll tell you
thirty-two, but if you’re a citiien of
this burg. I’ll tell you a different num
ber, more or less as the case neccessi-
.^tes. But seriously, I'll open the box
and show you what we’vo got and not
put in any drummer's adjectives.
In the catcher’s place we have Wade
Reynolds. You know what, he can do
when it comes to playing ball. We've
got two pitchers, Byrintyne and Duke.
To vard the close of last season Duke
proved that he had the earmarks of a
pitcher. Ths other flinger is Byrintyne.
Aga n if you’re a stranger I’ll tell you
that ho was importod before the new
tarlf law became effective, hence we
got a fine article cheap. Haven't seen
him work enough. They say that he is
going to be one of the be»c bets. Here
tofore the pitchers have been cracker
jack men, that we knew something 1
about, bnt this vear.s outlook is from a |
different angle. At first base we’ve I
got another ntw one. He’s a Byrintyne
too. Good baseball talent often runs
in a family and we believe we’re got it
hero One good point about this new
first-baseman; he sends a ball anywhere
he chooses and anybody who stops it
will verify that there is something be
hind it. He’s got a good arm. At
second we’ve Harris, last year’s second
baseman. Whac more need he said?
He's got the goods and i i showing ’em
in practice. There’s Pound at short-an
old dog in a now yard. Though light in
weight he makes up for this deficiency
in brains. He’s been in the field hereto
fore, but his practice with the inner
guard shows that he'll do better in the
the infield. At third another last year s
man, Collins. How’s this line for
an infield? Good fielders, sneedy play
ers. The whole shootin’ match in the
field is new. Groover and Smith, two
new ones from somewhere, seem likely
stuff. Tell more about the outfield
later. Things look rosy to us. More
dope next week.
P. S. If anoLher cold spell hits us,
cork up some wind and save it until the
first game.

The shooting, tearing pains of neuralgia are caused
by excitement of the nerves. Sciatica is also a nerve
pain.
Sloan’s Liniment, a soothing external application,
stops neuralgia pains at once, quiets the nerves, relieves
that feeling of numbness which is often a warning of
paralysis, and by its tonic effect on the nervous and
muscular tissues, gives permanent as well as immedi
ate relief.
One Application Relieved the Pain.
Mr. J. C. Lee. of noo Ninth St.. S. E., Washington, D. C., write*: —
