Rev. Jno. A. Wray
Goes to Miami, Fla.
Rev. Jno. A. Wray a former pastor j
of the Baptist, church here, but who '
has been pastor of the first church in
L've Oak, Fla. for several years has
mjycd to Miami, Fla. to take charge of
the First Baptist church. Miami is one
of the prettiest cities on the continent
and it is said that its Baptist church
there offers possibly the best opportun
ity in the state. No doubt Mr. Wray’s
many friends in this city will he glad
to learn of his work and success. He
is in great demand for evangelistic
work and keeps busy all the time. Just
before going to Miami the first of Feb
ruary he led a great Evangelistic cam
paign in El Paso Texas.
The following is taken from ‘•The
Dailv Metropolis” of Miami.
Since the coming of the new nastor
t) the Baptist church, Rev. John A.
Wray, there has been greatly increased
attendance of church members and out
side people. There is marked activity
shown also in every department of the
church work.
Mr. Wray, although small of
stature is an elegant and forceful
speaker, holding the attention of hi3
hsarers from beginning to end of his
discourse. He is something like John
Temple Graves the famous orator of
Georgia, in appearance as well ns in
the rapidity of his speech and the beau
ty of his diction.
To show something of the effective
ness of his work us castor, he received
13 members ths first Sunday and 10 last
Sunday, making 23 added to the church
roll within two weeks. The members
of the church are standing loyally by
lam in his efforts.
