More Prizes Have Been
Added in Cora Contest
Capt. W. T. Conn, of the Oconee
Utver Mills has added #5.00 to the list
of prizes which have been published in
The News for great corn exhibit next
fall.
Mr. T. S. Jennes subscribes $2 50 for
the fund, desiring to add his commend
ation in a substantial manner.
The corn show is an assured success.
The News is recording entrants into
the race and arrangements have already
been made far the tpace required for
the exhibits.
It means that the farmers of this
section will win about $200,00 in cash
prices by doing some good farming. It
means that the children of Baldwin
county will win about $100 devoted to
their department by the county board
of education. 1
Tim Commissioner’s Race
Mr. H. W. Little, probably one of
the best known private citizens of the
county, has announced for a place on
the board of commissioners of roads
and revenues of Baldwin county. Mr.
Little belongs to one of the oldest
families of tho county, dating back to
approximately 100 years ago.
Up to the piesent time no member of
the family has aspired to political hon
or!,, though all of them have been
prominent in the affairs of the county
and state. The entrance of Mr. LUtle
into the contest makes the race more
interesting and he has many friends
who figure on his election.

rules are simple and any one may enter.
Mr. W. A. Cook Announces
For County Commissioner
Mr. W. A. Cook, one of the best
known farmers and business men in
Baldwin county, has added his name to
the list on candidates for a placo on the
board of commissioners of roads and
revenues of the county.
There is no boubt but that Mr. Cook
will receive cordial support from his
numerous friends and he will count up
well in the finish.
Mr. C. P. Schell Adds to the
County Commissioner Race
Mr. C. P. Schell has announced as
one of the candidates for county Com
missioner. In his statement to the
public he promises to devote the time
and energy required to perform the
duties of the office to the best of his
ability. Those who know him regard
his word as good as unything can pos
sibly be and there is no doubt bat that
a large contingent of friends will be
working for him from now until the last
vote is polled on the day of the primary.
Mr. Leo Joseph Announces
For Surveyor of County
In today’s News will be found the an
nouncement of Mr. Leo Joseph, of this
city, for county surveyor. Mr. Joseph
is a well known and popular young man
and is well qualified to fill the position
to which he aspires. In addition to
graduating at the University of Georgia
Mr. Joseph took a post-graduate course
in civil engineering at Harvard and
there is no doubt but that ho is fully
competent to conduct the affairs of of
fice of county surveyor. His friends
are quite confidant of his election.

For County Commissioner
Mr. J. F.tMiller has announced for a
position cn tie board of Commissioner
of Roads and Revenues of Baldwin
county. Mr. Miller's statement will
undoubtedly be received with no small
degree of interest as he is well known
in Milledgeville and throughout Bald
win county and is a son of Capt Andrew
J. Miller, of this city.
Mr. Miller has received strong as
surance of cordial support and will
make an interesting contestant for a
place on the board.
