Milledgeville folk captured Macon in
grand style last Friday when the senior
class of the Georgia Normal and Indus
trial College, eighty five strong, went
over to the state educational associa

H. J. Gaertner, Mins Cora Beck, Miss
Annie Brewer, Miss Iyouise Zellner,
Miss Lucile Pharr, Miss Estelle Boze
man, Miss Mabel Evans, Miss Julia
Bethune and Miss Kate Thrash.
They received a royal welcome from
Ihe educators from over the whole
state and in turn entertained the asso

fact that the Senior Class here is the
largest in the state of Georgia attract
ed much attention.
Undoubted values are an undoubted

In The Interests cf The Proposed
Georgia Chamber ol
Commerce.
i Barnetville, Ga., —On last Wednes-
j day, May 3, the “Booster car” of the
| proposed state Chamber of Commerce
left this city for a complete tour of
Georgia, visiting all of the large cities,
I and quite a number of the smaller ones,
j Personal appeals are to be made to the •
I different trade bodies to support the
movement for a state organization, and |
to send delegates to the convention tc
be held here July 19, at which time tho I
body will be formally organized.
The tour of this car will probably do
as much to promote interest in the com.
mercial growth as the scout cars have
done to create Interest in good roads.
In the party to leave here there will
he Emmett Langford, treasurer of the
Barnesville Chamber of Commerce;
William Wakefield, the secretary, and
other members of that oranization
whose names will be announced later.
The “Booster car” will be a Primo,
which has been generously donated for
the UHe of the proposed Chamber of
Commerce hv the Primo Motor Com
pany, of Atlanta. It will be a “Georgia
product,” boosting a movement that
will eventually be of infinite value to
the cities of the Empire State of the
South.
Tho first week the car will visit cities
on the houte from Bartlesville t.o Green
ville, from Greenville to Carrollton, and
then up to Rome. On Friday the party
will turn hack, coming toward Atlanla,
arriving there during the forenoon of
Saturday. The second week of the j
tour the car will strike out for Augusta,
and the eastern portion of the state,
gradually working south. The third
week the car will leave Thomasville
tor Columbus. Fitzgeral and Macon,
where the tour will come to a close.
Since there has been considerable
misunderstanding throughout Georgia
us to the purposes of the proposed
state Chamber of Commerce it might
be well to stuto briefly what the body is
to he organized for, tho benefit to De
derived from the organization and the
recipients of the benefits thereof.
Tho prime purpose, of course, is to
have a central body to advertise Geor
gia thru the country; to always be on
the alert to care for its commercial in
terests, and to organize thade'bodiea in
cities in the state where no such bodies
now exist.
it should he statod in the beginning,
also that this body is not organized to
boost any particular city in Georgia.
It is not a local affair by anv manner
of means. It is not a scheme to further
the ambitions of some politicians. It
is purely and simply for Georgia! For
the different trade holies in Gerrgia!
* Here arc soma of tho purposes of the
novemont;
First, to boost good reads; second, to
give practical and immediate assist
ance to every local Chamber of Com
merce that needs it; third, to promote
trade bodies in towns where they do
not now exist; fourth, to make a sys-
temmic campaign in advertising Geor
gia where something can be obtained
for Georgia, fifth, to secure industrial
e Pcrprises for Georgia: sixth, to en
courage Georgians to keep Georgia
money at home.
Letters have been received from
nearly 40 trade bodies stating that del
egates will be sent to the eonvc ntion.
Numbers of prominent men in Georgia
and the United States will attend. Him
Hoke Smith has said he will be on hand
if he possibly can arrange to do so.
Already Bartlesville is preparing to
entertain the delegates, and the mayor
and council of the city are exerting a I
their efforts to make the state Chamber
of Commerce a reality.

Is there anything in all this world
that is of more importance to you than
good digestion? Food must be eaten to
sustain life and must be digested and
converted'into blood. When the diges
tion fails the whofe body suffers. Cham

liale cure for indigestion. They increa.-e
the flow of bile, purify the blood,
strengthen the stomach, and tone up

Fob Stomach Trouble. and Con»ti*atiom
Are Drugs Necessary?
Do Drugs Cure Disease?
Can Nature be Assisted?
If pcop'o were born right cr.d after
wards lived right, there would bo no
use fur medicine. Every doctor knows
this. So do other well-informed pcoplo.
One thiug more. When a person lives
wrongly,or acquires bodily weakness by
heredity, medicine can do only very
little. Medicine cannot cure him. Only
charlatans claim that medicines will
cure disease. Medicines may palliate
Symptoms. Medicines may urgo tho
powers of Nature to resist disease. Med
icines sometimes arouse theeffortsof the
human body to right it«c !f against de
rangements. This is the most that med
icine can do.
A man accidentally pnt* his finger in
tho fire. Instinctively ho wets his
finger in Ids month* then blows on it
for the cooling effect. This is no cure.
Ke knows it very well, Put it makes it
feel better for the time being.
People eat unwisely. This produces
dyspepsia or indigestion. The only
rational euro is to cat correctly. Yet if
a palliative is at hand the {rains of indi
gestion can ho mitigated, tho throes of
dyspepsia assuaged. The medicine can
not be said to liavo cured. It simply
palliates disagreeable symptoms. The
cure must come through right living.
Take Peruna, for instance, No one
claims Pernna la a cure for dyspepsia.
But Peruna will stimulate the stomach
to perform its function prop* rly. Pcru-
na will increase the flow of digestive
fluids, without which digestion cannot
be carried on at all. ItwilMnerease the
relish of food, the appetite.
It ts admitted that all this can be
accomplished by right living, but there
are so many people whocithcT will not
or do not know how'tocat correctly that
a tremendous amount of good can be
done by tho wise uso-of Peruna.
A stomach that has been frequently
abused performs the fun tion oT diges
tion very lazily. Such a stomach allows
the food to remain undigested for some
time after it is swallowed. This leads
to fermentation of the food. Sour stom
ach is the result. This goes on week
after week, until the blood is poisoned
with tne products of fermentation. This
condition is very apt to produce rheum
atism.
It is not claimed that Pernna will cure
rheumatism. Nothing wiileurc rheum
atism but correct living. Bat It is
Claimed that Peruna will assist a badly
•bused stomach to .perform its work.
t
If a person would correct his habits,
persist in right eating and temperate
ways, undoubtedly tho stomitch would
right Itself, the ! 1 jod would rid Itself of
tho poison, and everything would be
right. But as said heforo there are a
multitude of people who will not or can
not adopt right methods of lhing. To
such people IVruna Is a boon. A doso
beforo meals will assist the stomach to
do Its work. This prevents fermenta
tion of the foist, brings ulmut normal
digestion, and all the train of ills that
follow indigestion disappear.
In other words, Peruna is helpful to
those w ho live badly, or those who
havo acquired somo chronic weakness.
Peruna does not euro, hut it assists the
powers of Nature to bring about a cure.
Tho whip does not increase the power
of tho horse to pull a load, hut judi
ciously used it stimulates the horse to
use his powers at tho right time, with
out which he could not have pulled the
load.
This Illustrates the effect of Pernna,
or any other good remedy upon the sys
tem. Taken at the right time, it call*
forth tho powers of tho human sy«t< m.
to meet tho en roaehments of disease,
and thus cuts short, if not entirely ends,
the diseased action.
No one should ever attempt to rnivti-
tuto medicine in tho place of right liv
ing. In tho end such an attempt will
prove a disaster. But an occasional use
of tho right medicine at the right tune
is a godsend, and no reasonable pers-.u
will undertake f o deny it.
Those who know how to use Pernna
And it of untold valuo. By and by the
world will got wise enough so that
through correct living no medicin* at
all will be needed. But that time has
not arrived, lu the meantime, while
the world is approaching that perfec
tion in which all medicine will be elim
inated, Peruna is a handy remedy to
have in the house.
Blight derangements of th? stomach;
slight catarrhal attacks of the liver, I he
throat, bronchial tubes, lungs or bow
els; these attacks aro sure to lead to
i grave diseases, and can be averted by
| the judicious use of Peruna.
| Wouldn’t you like to read a few cn-
! solicited testimonials from people w ho
have used Peruna, and who stand ready

cerning it. If so, address tho Peruna
