tion sale cf purebred Duroc-Jersey
sows held here today by Peacock Bro
thers, of this place, and J. W. Hodge,
of Elko, 41 head of hogs were sold at
the record price of $10,700, which is an
average of $260 per head. This is
sa'd to be the highest average price
ever paid for hogs at a sale in the
South.
Quite a number of sows in this sale
were bred to the $3,500 grand cham
pion boar, Orion Cherry King, Jr., own-
| ed by these breeders and these sows
I brought an average of $311 per head,
