German Chancellor Expresses Satis
faction With "Events in the West

Amsterdaam, May 27.—“I am still op
timistic enough to believe that peace
will come this year," said Count Vcn
Hertllng, the German Chancellor, in
an interview published in a Budapest
newspaper, according to advices re
ceived here today. The interview con
tinued:
"We want nothing but a place in the
sun. Our agreements for the future
have not been aggressive in charac
ter. We are firm in the confidence
that events In the west bring us near
er the end.”
The Chancellor also commented at
length upon the "improvement in the
relations with Hungary” in a propa
gandist nature.
