THREE WAR MEDALS
BESTOWED ON “Y”HER0
Red Triangle Worker Wounded by
Hun Machine Gun at Soissona,
| Toul and Chateau Thierry
New York, August 25.—Flat on his
hack in the Waldorf Astoria hotel, W.
A. Roberts, who has been awarded
three French war medals for bravery
in the fighting zones, is enjoying a
well-earned rest, and is talking freely
of almost anything but why the
French government showered honors
upon him.
Mr. Roberts, a Y. M. C. A. worker
in France, had bestowed upon him the
Croix de Guerre, the badge of the
Legion of Honor, and the Medal Mlll-
taire. He won them all In three
months.
Roberts was assistant auditor of the
Michigan Central railroad before he
was selected to be auditor of disburse
ments for the Y. M. C. A. in France,
and to handle more than a quarter of
a million dollars a day. He left for
overseas service February 12, was
wounded by a Hun machine gun at
Solssons, rescued a ”Y’’ secretary amid
a hail of bullets In the Toul sector
and was touched up by German marks

I to me, Mandy. I’m not going to let
you get nway—no more, never 1”
And by the way In which the woman
clung to his arm it was evident that
she did not propose to lose him.
"My, Uncle Joe! you are just the
bravest man 1” declared Carolyn May,
finding her voice. “Isn't he, Miss
Mandy? And, see, his arm is all
burned. Dear me, we must get home
to Aunty Rose and let her do it up for
him.”
STOMACH TROUBLE
Mr. Marion Holcomb, of Nancy, Ky., says: “For quite
a long while I suffered with stomach trouble. 1 would
have pains and a heavy feeling after my meals, a most
disagreeable taste in my mouth. If 1 ate anything with
butter, oil or grease, I would spit it up. I began to have
regular sick headache. I had used pills and tablets, but
after a course of these, I would be constipated. It just
seemed to tear my stomach all up. 1 found they were
no good at all for my trouble. I heard
