CLASS CONFIRMED
EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Bishop Mikell Confirms Class
and St. Stephens Church
And Fills Pulpit at Baptist
. Church Sunday Evening
Bishop H. J. Mikell, of Atlanta coil-
firmed a claa at the Episcapal church
here Sunday morning, afterwards
'preching a very interesting sermon
In the evening he preached at the
Baptist church. Despite the rain that
fell in the afternoon there was
large congregation to hear him at
night.
The theme for the night service was
the adventurous spirit of religion and
its romance. He read the story of
the Master sending the two discipl
es into a strange village. When
they saw a man they were bearing
a pitcher of water they were to fol
low him into a strange house, liow
much of adventure and romance arc
here suggested. Yet this is in no way
an unusual element In the life of
Christ, lie was constantly demand
ing the unusual, tho strange and '.he
ideal. He did not try to be practi
cal. He undertook with a handful of
unknown disciples to conquer the Ho
man empire and the world. In the
light of the past glories of the discip
les it is not so romatic but how int-
posible it must have seemed in those
early days?
The sermon was well delivered and
forceful. With choice language the
congregation was shown that Chris
tianity is a great adventure in the
realm of intellect and also of will. As
a system of thinking it well nigh re
versed many of the world’s former
conclusions. In the realms of will it
did reverse the very foundations of
life. We are bidden to do the im
possible.
Those who heard were greatly
pleased with the message and were
helped. We shall welcome Bishop
Mikell at any time.

Detroit, in denial of the mary rumors
circulating throughout the count'y

the Ford branches in the United
States, and reads as follows: "Seve
ral branches have reported persistent
rumors in their territory to the effect
that change in body design is con
templated the first of the year even
going so far as to say some of our
assembly plants are already receiv
ing shipments of new body material.
We have never considered it good
business Judgement to make any guar

matters of this nature, but you/ may
advise your dealers that these al

It was also poniteil out that many

REPORTING BIRTH
RATE IS TOO LOW
The annual report of the depart
ment of the Vita] statistic of the Stale
Board of Health shows that only
per cent of the births of 1920 were reg
istered as against the number given
for the previous year In the census to-
port. Surely Baldwin County does
not intend to neglect her own native
born. A registered puppy 1b worh

it costs to register It. I’ll let Hie

At the last session of the superior
court a boy went to the penitentiary
because his mother could not prove
his age. Had he had 1 a birth certifi
cate he might have gone to the Train
ing school for Boyb where he would bo
given the training that his youth would
entitle him too. Can any one fall to
see the Justic e to a child to have .t
legally registered?
Any person that is interested and
can see the obvious needs for legally
registration of births and deaths
