RAP USE OF HORSES IN ARENA
Mexicans Agitate Against Feature
of Bull Fights. Fearing Shortage
for Transportation.
Mexico City.—There is a slight agi
tation here against the use of horses
in hull-fighting.
One contributor, writing to n local
paper, object* on the ground that the
hulls will kill so many horses that
the supply of them for transportation
in the city will be depleted.
Protest on behalf uf, the horses is
routined to I hose who are not keen
followers of the sport. A true bull-
tijzlit fan w 'I tell any one that a
loose even though lie i< gored and
mutilated by an angry hull, Is n neces
sary adjunct to the light and plays a
part in keeping with the picador who
mounts Him.
However, the sight of a gored ani
mal running frantically around the
arena, fleeing because of bis blind
fold. from he knows not what, lias sent
many hundreds home from the games
before they wore completed.

straight collars with narrow veateea

materials. Fine net pieces embroid

K tba same Uce, were among the love-

There are some very handsome high-

Insets, edged with narrow clnny are
joined to long vestees of net with a
plaited frill of lsce down the center,
finished off with flat crochet buttons.
They are usually made of deep cream-
colored net and lace and much ad

accessories of this kind ora hand
made.
In handkerchiefs the holidays
brought to notice very dainty ones of
plain or crossbar linen with very nar
row hems. They were bordered with
frills of fine net; sometimes this frill
bad an edge whipped with colored
thread.

HOW DOES THIS STRIKE YOU?
For the past two or three weeks we have been selling shoes right from our shelves at exactly half
the original price. The sacrifice we have been making amounts to nothing less than the making of
sales at far below cost price to us. Now—
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?
The latest quotations we have received from manufacturers puts us wise to the fact that we cannot replace the
SHOES we are now selling for less than 20 per cent more than we are getting them. We’d have you know
that we buy SHOES at as low prices as any other merchant.
THEN-
H °W long do you expect to buy SHOES at a price 20 per cent less than we can obtain such stock at the mar
ket, let alone the matter of paying freight and the cost of doing business. -
Until further notice we will continue to sell shoes at half price.
