frlutfiil meeting held by the farmer:!
of Baldwin county in a long time took
placo ut the court he e here Saturday
afternoon.
While the attendance at this meet
ing was comparitaveiy small, dis
cussion of matters of real interest
were heard. Miss Mamie Jones and
Mr, Allen Stiles, delegates from the
Baldwin County Farm Bureau to tho
convention of state farm b reaus hold
in Atlanta last week delivered inter
esting reports of what took place at
the annual gathering.
Mr. T. L. Asbury, supervisor of
farm demountrri‘*on work for the
Tenth distrkt, was at this meeting
and outlined' what would be expected
of Baldwin county in the event the
state and national governments were
called upon to supply a farm demons
trator. Ho stated that the stao
federal government would contribue
$1.00 per month to the expense and
salary of a county agent, provided tha
county would provide comparatively
a similiar amount.
The Milledgeville Kiwanas Club
passed information on to the chair
man o ftho Baldwin County Farm
| Bureau that it would see to it that
$800 would be gotten up for this pur
pose. It was then voted by the farm
bureau members that they would se
cure the $200 necessary to insure a
county agent. It was stated that the
dues of some of the farm bureau mem
bers yet to be paid would be suffici
ent to make up the amount of $200.
In his address to tho farmers as
sembled, District Supervisor Asbury
advised that a specially .appointed
committee be placed in charge of the
work to be dfone by the county agent
in order to obtain the best results.
