< The work of preparing the houses
jnnd prounds at Gracewood, the scat
lor the new State Institution for Bark
pit ard rhilrden, is going forward under
[the supervision of Or. George H. Pros-
►ton. tl e recently elected superintend-
lent. Ur. and Mrs. Preston have been
jut Gracewood for several weeks, mak
ing a survey and getting everything in
•si a; a to open the school as soon as
mos. ihle. The buildings are being
{overhauled, the farm straightened and
ja (.airy herd bought. The prelimin
aries are well in hand and at no dis
tant datd the doors will be thrown
lopcn I r the care of those children of
lour Slate who require special train-
ling.
Gracewood is eight miles from Au-
jgusta, Georgia, and was bought by
ttl.o Slate from the Tuttle-Newton Or-
tphnriv.se. It is a beautiful location;
itlie houses are of solid concrete and
leone rote block, they aro exceptionally
•well constructed; the cottage plan is
Karri ! out; the dairy is very fine; an
(electric light plant Is installed, as well
us a water system. The extent to
•which tills school can be operated, of
iroin , depends entirely upon the lib-
lorality of the legislature toward this
much needed institution. The number
of pupils to ho admitted will depend
(solely upon the maintenance fund
•voted. Those who wish further in
fer; : on, blanks for entrance, rules
(under which the school will operate,
jrtc., can communicate with 0,r. George
31. Preston, Gracewood, Ga, who will
bo glad to furnish any information
that lie can.
HEALTH AND WEALTH
Health and wealth are synonymous
terms in that the possessor of the for
mer is also the possessor of the latter.
People usually lock upon health as a
thing to which they are entitled, even
j after violating fb.e laws of nature.
I They consider wealth as a goal to
1 which they can only hope to attain by
! attending to their business affairs with
i the utmost diligence. They realize
j that negligence in their business will
[ moan the loss of dollars and cents to
I their pockets, yet they seem to think
! that negligence in the case of their
bodies will not have a similar effect
upon their health.
Consider for a moment the people of
your community. What is the en
deavor of thosg whom you engage in
conversation? In the great majority
of instances, is it not the desire to
accumulate material tilings? This i.i
all well »nd good. The ambition of
every man should be to improve hio
condition materially, at least to that
point that may bo termed independent.
But is not health just as important,
and, upon second thought, will it not
be considered more important than
wealth of material tilings?
Some people aro so dilegent in the
race for the accumulation of money
that they often make of themselves
physical wrecks by disobeying the sim
ple laws of nature relative to the up
keep of that most wonderful mechan
ism called the human body. After the
race is won and their goal 13 reached,
they will invariably see, probably too
late, that It would have been far bet- ;
ter to have been less diligent in bu-;l-1
ness or social activities and have giv
en more rest and care to their bodies.
I We Would be far better off in the long
; run if we would spend oue-liulf as
much thought upon the care of our
physical solves as we do to the pur-
! suit of riches. The poor ntnn with a
, sound body is far more happy thau
I the invalid rich,
| The sick man i3 a liability to his
1 State, while the well man is an asset.

The week of July 11 to 16, inclusive,
is one of the considerable moment to
tlie physicians of cur State. Through
the kindness of Emory University

giving their attention to the matter,
and the Fulton County Medical So

stay of the physicians pleasant as well
as profitable.
This'ls the first time that a Univer
slty has arranged an Institute-Clinic
for venereal diseases, offering it free
to the medical profession, and it is
to he commended for Its public tplrit
in so doing. -

M OST everybody knows the
easy-going sort of man who
never takes a tire seriously until he
gets a blow-out.
How long he will resist universal
tire education is a question.
But this is sure-
More people are finding out every
day that between leaving things
to luck and getting real economy
there is a big difference.
Many a car-owner has come to
U. S. Tires because he couldn’t afford
to keep on paying that difference.
Probably seven out of ten users
°f U. S. Tires came to them only
after they’d had enough of “dis
counts”, “bargain offers”, “clearance
sales of surplus stocks” and other
similar appeals.
They have found economy—and
they stick to it
They pay a net price—not “some
thing off list” that may not mean
anything in the first place.
They get fresh, live tires, being
made and shipped while this mes
sage is being written.
No matter where they live there’s
a nearby U. S. Dealer with his
nearby U. S. Factory Branch.
U. S. Tires keep moving.
• No opportunity to get old and
dried out. No shifting here and there
trying to find a market.
Every U. S. Tire a good tire,
wherever you find it anywhere in
the country.
Because the U. S. policy is a good
policy that serves the car-owner all
the time.
Doing the very best for him that
human good faith can do.
