A T THIS time simps Ihrmiplimit tIn-

last of their summer fabrics, and wom
en take advantage of the sales and
low prices to replenish their supply
of summer dresses or anticipate their
needs for fall. In the case of the
two frocks pictured we welcome an
early fall aspirant for favor in one
of them and hid farewell to midsum
mer styles in the other.
Dotted swisses, In many pleasing
colors, with wdilte or colored dots,
have had a wonderful vogue, the sev
eral shades of blue with white dots,
having found the greatest number of
admirers. A dress of navy Swiss, dot
ted with white, as shown at the right
Of the picture. Is the last of this year's
models In this particular color com
bination. It brings up the rear of u
procession of attractive frocks in
which the Swiss has been combined or
trlmme^with white organdie. In this
particular case bands of embroidered
awiss organdie lend an Interest to the
model and the dress Is up to the de
gree of excellence that has preceded
It in frocks of the same material.
Thus the dotted swigs makes Its exit.
1 Immediately following come the new
frocks of point de esprit made up with
j lace in all-over and other patterns.
I This is a revival, since women are so
|Veil disposed toward sheer fabrics, of
an old and irled favorite. The model
pictured is designed for a young wom
an and will serve for either afternoon
or evening wear—one reason why It
will prove interesting to mothers who
are about to outfit their daughters who
are going away to school. It is just
the character of dress for such youth
ful wearers. In this inodPl the point
de esprit has an underskirt and body
of all-over lace. The fullness and
length of the skirt must not he over
looked, or the shape of the waist with
its square neck. The neck opening Is
bordered with laee and partly filled
In with a plain piece of point de esprit.
There are three narrow frills of lace
on the short sleeves and u youthful
snsh of narrow ribbon with a wreath
of ribbon flowers posed against It.
