After four weeks' notice, pursuant
to law, a petition, of which a true
and correct copy is subjoined, will
he presented to the Honorable James
i: Park, Judge of the Superior Court,
at chambers at the court house in Jan
per County, in the City of Montit olio,
Georgia, on the 14th day of Novem
ber, 15)22. Said petition will he ver
ified by th B oath of the undersigned
guardian. The said petition is in the
following words and figures, to-wit:

The petition of W. ft. Hall shows
to the Court the following facts:
Par. 1. That he is th 8 guardian of
Mattie Hall. Hartley Hall, Mary Hall,
Tom llall and Barbara Hall, minors,
aged' 19, IT, 14, 12 and 10 years, re
spectively; that he was appointed guar
dian of said minors by the Court of
Ordinary of said County.
Par. 2. Petitioner Bays that the es
tate of the said inors consists of ,t
five-ninths undivided interest in re
malnder after the life estate of peti
tioner, W. H. Hall, in the following
described land, to-wit: All that tract
of land lying and being in the City
of Milledgeville, Georgia, in Square
No. 68, fronting south on Montgomery
Street and runniig luick in a North
feet, and bounded on the Hast by the
lands of C. P. Schell ami on the
West by the land of J. H Ennis.
a hereon is located the old dwollim
house of Judge Iverson L. Harris.
Par. 2. Petitioner says that the
entire properly brings a yearly gross
income of $420.00. The taxes and in
surance paid on the same amounts to
$115.90, and the ordinary repairs
$150.00, leaving a net income of $155.00
t<. the life tenant. Petitioner furthei
says that the dwelling on the lot is
fast going into decay, and in a few
years th e house will not be fit to'
occupancy and no Income will be de
rived from the property. He says the
Interest of his said wards in the prop
erty is worth $2,000.00 Petitioner
says he has no funds, either of his
own or belonging to his wards, with
which to improve the said property.
Par, 4. Petitioner desires to sell
the ssid interest of his wards in the
above described property at private
sale, and desires to reinvest the pro
reeds of- said sale in United States
Liberty Bonds of the Third Liberty
Loan, bearing interest at 4‘4 per cent,
which bonds can be piirchuaed by him
at $5)9.90 per $100.00 face value.
Par. 5. Petitioner shows that no

week for, four weeks, in the newspa
per in which the county advertise
ments of Baldwin County are usually

Said sale is made for the purpose of

Upon motion, the following order
levying taxes for county purposes for
the year 15)22 was passed:
V.’hcrefts, the State tax for the year
1922 has been levied bv the propei
authorities, which tax lias been fixed at
five mills upon each dollar oi taxable
property; and.
Whereas, the total value of the proji
ertv returned for taxation in Baldwin
county is $4,521,200.00:

end adjudged that there be levied upon
nil property returned for taxation ir
Baldwin county, and upon all property-
in said county liable for taxation, n
tax of one and three-tenths per cent,
that is to sav a tax of thirteen mills
upon each dollar of the value thereof,
which levy is made for the year 1922.
The above tax is for countv purposes
and is in addition to the school tax
hereinafter levied, and the said tax is
levied for the following purposes and
in tin- following amounts:
1. To pay jurors, a tax of 6 100 per
cent or G-li) mills. •
2. To pay bailiffs, a tux of 1-100 per
cent, or 1-10 mills.
3. To pay expense of inquests, a tax
of 2-1000 per cent or 2-10(1 mills.
4. To support "prisoners in jail a tax
of 5-100 per cent or 5-10 mills.
5. To support paupers a tax of 7-100
per cent, or 7-10 mills.
G. To pay the legal fees and salaries
of county officers, a tax of 1-10 per
cent or I mill.
7. To furnish books and supplies for
county offices a tax of 28-1000 pm- cent
or 28-100 mill.
8. To construct and repair the public
roads, a tax of 4-10 per cent or 4 mills.
9. To pay the past due legal indebted
ness of the county, a tax of 2-10 per
cent or 2 mills.
30. To build and repair public # ridget
und to repair the county jail and court
house a fax of 3-10 per cent or 8 mills.
11. To pay the salary and expense of
tin* Health Commissioner a tax of 8-100
per cent or 8-10 mill.
Total 1-3-10 per cent, or 13 mills.
