delphia as a cabin boy. He landed
in this country penniless, and ac
cepted employmciitat picking straw
berries, making from 10 to 25 cents
a dsy. This means of livelihood
could not last long, of course, and
he was compelled to write to his
step-father for assistance, and was
granted an annuity of £100 Until he
became of age. In 1881, having
reached his majority, he returned to
EoglaDd and obtained some of the
private fortuno that belonged to him
While on his visit he received a
document from a Welsh lady recom
mending him to all patriotic Welsh
men, • which afterward proved of
great value to him. Shortly after
his return to this country his meats
again became exhausted, and in
“roughing it” in the West, he con
tracted a pulmonary disease that
eventually took him off. Arriving
(it Denver he secured a situation as
an express driver, but afterward
worked on a sheep ranch. About a
year ago, being taken suddenly ill,
he went to board with a Welshman
named Jones, who cared for him
until bis death. The Deuvct- Xetos
speaks in high terms of the Mr. Deni-

SHIPBRECK! TERRIBLE LOSS OF LIFE!!
Mother and daughter go down together. A lovely maiden leaps into eteroitv! Wires and husbands,
aons and daughter* are wrecked and lost. Many sad hearts are led to mourn ibe loss. A husband lost
his wife and daughter, a young man lost betrothed.
A contemplation of these horrible “wrecks” work wonderfully upon the mind. The thought makes
one feel sad. The strain upon delicate female nerves is too great. A married lady of our acquaintance
was so wrought upon mentally that she became low-spirited and sad. lost fc«*r appetite, refused food, be
came feeble and emaciated, nervous and fretful. Her friends insist* d that she should not think of tnesa
44 wrecks*' so much, but she insisted that she was sick in reality, and took her bed. 6be soon bad aches
end Mine, and worked herself into a net-work of female troubles, which eventually ended in chronic
female weaknesses and erceseea and death.
Another case in point waa that of a young lady. Ghe had lost a friend and soon became melancholy
and nervous, could not sleep soundly, liter memory began to fail her, she lost all desire for company, her
brain lost its brilliancy, her eye its luster, her checks became pale, complained of constant headache, and
finally fell a victim to a list of female troubles, hysterics, palpitations, delirium, convulsions, and death.
These cases are of every dsy occurrence, and these M wrecks ” upon female society are frightful. They
should be remedied, and there is a remedy within the reach of all, and it is your duty to apply it.
