intelligent and progressive people.
So one will gainsay any of these
statements, but when the aforesaid
guide holds extra inducements to
sportsmen from a distance to come
to Albany with the expectation of
Sliding in our immediate vicinity-a
great many dcor and some bear, it
does seem to me it looks like drown
ing the miller, to use a quaint old
phrase.
Now if the guide in question means
to say that we have in our immediate
vicinity a great many dear girls and

der of Albany, I frankly admit that

Nitrogen, 10 pounds, in the form

Potash. 31 pounds. In tho form of
muriate of potash.
Phosphoric aeid, 8 pounds, in the
form of super-phosphate.
To produce 1,500 pounds of. dried
leaf tobacco, with tbe ostial propor
tlon of stalk more than the natural
yield per acre of land, use:
Nitrogen, 149 pounds, In the form
of salphate of ammonia.
Potash, 172 pounds, iu tbe form of
sulphate of potash.
Phosphoric aeid, 16 pounds, in *be
form of sulphate of potash.
Lime, 1G0 pounds, in tbe form of
sulphate of lime (tiros piaster.)
These mixtures should be sown
over the land broadcast when the
ground is well prepared, before,
planting, and not put in the hills, aoi
that the roots may seek the food and;
not concentrate and thereby cause
the plants to “burn up.’’'
