If the thousands of little babies who have been
cured of agonizing, itching, burning, bleeding.
bl ®tthy Jddn and scalp diseases could
write, what a host of letter* would be received by
the proprietor* of the Ccticuha Remedies. Few
can appreciate the agony theao little ones suffer,
and when these great remedies relieve in a singlo
application the most distressing eczemas and itch.

company has been formed, to be

11,000.000 capital. It is proposed to

large part of the monster mine will be
given to working plans of its leading

A t-hife 50x12 feet in the clear is to
be sunk a depth of at least fifty feet.
The shaft will be mounted wi»h an
iron stroc .nre, in which the variott-

Entry rooms to elevators and cages
ill also be constructed. 1 he shaft

At toe bottom of the shaft an enor

at the side of the shatt a pumproom.
A corridor in the form of an elliptic
around the shaft 700 feet in length
will be constructed, the floor to be of
marble taken from the well-known
quarries ot the country, lined with

On the inner face of the corrider will
be placet! a museum coutainlning spec

union. Columns of Colorado marble
and Vermont grani'e, with sandstones
and quartzites will be interspersed.
Outside of this elliptical corridor
will be the line of drifts reached by

different excavations will be made so
as to form exact representations of the
famous mines. The carbonate silver

One of the Indications c?f the great
Kentuckian’s ainbi;ion is said ro be his
recent wavering attitude on silver leg
islation. The democrats of the house
coinage rommito c claim to have re
ceived from him, at sundry times, con
flicting reports as to what lie desired
them to do with regard to the Vest
free coinage bill.
Some of the silver men claim that It
is certaiu that he regarded tlie Vest
measure as a good democratic scheme,
but the eastern men seem to have had
quite a different Idea as to his position:
Mr. Carlisle’s apparent irresolution on
tlie subject of free coinage ha* caused
the gossips to put their heads together,
and the verdict I* that he i* ambition*
to conciliate nil sides for n purpose, and
the purjKise is already stated.
There is a growing sentiment that
tho next presidential ticket might car
ry a southern name. Mr. Carlisle is~a
man of ability and represents demo
cratlc politics and principle*. It may
be that he has a Ix-e somewhere con
cealed about his apparel, but even his
best friends have hesitated to suggest
anything higher for him than the sec
ond place on the ticket to be arranged
in the summer of 1892.
If he should corn* actively into tin*
field, it Is not improbable that he could
be nominated for vlce-preeident, pro
vided, always, that the head of the
ticket came from the east.
He would make a most capable pre-
uiding officer for the upp»r house, no
one stops to gainsay. The Boston story
is probably overdrawn.

There are between fifty and. six y
miles ot electric wire in the . building.
Underground conduits connect ’.he
wires with the dynamo bouse. Tho
rooms are supplied with electric light
lamps, which can he turned down as
low as a gas jet ora kerosene lamp.
The building contains 2,500 electric
fights, each fight having sixteen can
die power. Three engines of 110 horse
power each are required to run the
electric works. All the electric fix
tures are Iu the ceiling, and all this is
operated with scarcely a particle of
danger.
In the ball room there are two cir
cles of fights. A five point star con
taining fifty fights is in the center.
Thirty stars, forming a crescent are
back of the music stand. The dining
room contains 190 lights, which form
three circles.
A flag pole one hundred and fifty
feet high rises above the old Tampa
Fort and is capped by a golden cres-
ceut studied with gems, and containing
four brilliant electric lights.

owner, Mr. H. B. Plant, the president
of the Plant system of railroads, in

The courts yard covers ten acres and

Here is a rich story that happened
last Sunday night, and which comes
from the Bethlehem colored Baptist
church.
A few days ago Judge Xonfz pat
Pa’raer Pease, a negro, under
$160 bond to appear before-tho city
court to answer to the charge of beiug
drunk at chnrch.
Pease was charged with being at
Bethlehem Baptist church in an intox
icated condition, while the people were
there for the purpose of religious wor
ship, at the request of members of the
chnrcb.
The evidence in the case shewed that
Pease went to the church about “three
sheets iu the wind.”
After being there a short while he
began to feel very happy, and, to show
his happiness, he disturbed the good
members of the~ church by making
funny signs, which attracted the Atten
tion of the congregation.
Pease became so troublesome that
the’deacons had him carried from the
church.
After staying out a very short while
Pease agafn eame into the church aud
occupied a seat about middle way of
the aisle.
As he kept quiet for some time the
deacGns concluded that he would cause
no more trouble and ceased to watch
him.
When the ongregation was deeply
interested in the words ol the preacher,
which were falling thick and fast, Pease
arose from his seat.
The preacher paid no attention to
him, but kept warming up on the sub
ject.
Pease *ot down on his hands end
knees aud went hopping towards the
pulpit like a dog.
Before the congregation was aware
