The Mayor and Council of the city of Albany
do hereby ordain:
Hcction 1. That there shall lie Issued the !)onds
of the city of Albany to the amount of One
Hundred Thousand Dollar*,or no much tliereyf
it* shall Iks necessary for the purisoms of provid
ing fund* for constructing and erecting n sys
tem of waterworks and laying and construct-
Ing a system of sewerage for thu city.
Hoc. 3. The Ilond* Issued in pursuanco of this
ordinance shall bo of the denomination of One
Thousand Dollars ench, and shall lie numlMsred
from one upward, all to Ikj fully paid off und
discharged within twenty-five year* from the
ISIh day of January, 1894, and ahull hear inter
est At the rate of six percent, per annum, |4/M0
of the principal and the interest, payable on the
Iftth day of Jamiary, 1804, und annually there
after, at the Mercantile National Hank fu New
York City; principal and Intercat payable in
lawful money of the United Htate* of America;
•aid Honda shall be signed by the Mayor and
Clerk, and countersigned by the Treasurer aud
attested with the seal of said elty of Albany.
The Treasurer shall keep a hook In which
shall bo registered all of said Hoads, showing
tho numlMjr of thu Ilond and thu date of Issue, to
whom issued, date of redemption and puyincnt
of Interest.
Hald Honda shall have coupons signed and
countersigned as the Honda, attached, repre
senting ench Installment of Interest to lie paid,
und said coupons shall be detached from the
Ilond before the payment of the Interest repre
sented thereby, and shall, u|K>n payment, be
forthwith cancelled.
Sec. 8. The said Honda shall lie negotiated by
the Mayor mid Council, or some deputised
agent, for cash at the l>est price obtainable.

Hoe. 4. Tho Mayor and Connell shall cause ns-

or all bids received for sueli Honda.
Hoc. 6. There shall be unnually levied uud col
lected on all taxable property, real and ‘per
sonal, within the olty, a tax sufficient to pay the
Interest on said Honda as the same liecomes due,
and to redeem said Honda as provided In this

elty; and said tax shall be known m thu Water
and Hewerage Uotid Tax, and the proceed*
raised thereby ahull be used for the pnymvut (if

of January, ? <94, there shall he redeemed four of
said Hornls, In the order in which they are made
payable.

to be the custodian of the Ilond*, and of the

American topics will be treated in lecture courses by recognized
authorities, in single addresses by distinguished public men and women,
and in magnificent tableaux, illustrated entertainments and National
concerts, Dr. Edward Eggleston will give a course on "American
Colonial Life." Mr. H. W. Raymond, of the Navy Department, will
describe, with stereopticon views, "The Navy—Old and New.” Mr.
W. E. Curtis, of the State Department, will lecture on “The Existing
Conditions of South American Republics," etc.
There will be the usual variety of lectures and addresses on many
different topics of interest by speakers of National reputation. Among
those already secured may be mentioned Prof. H. H. Boyesen, Dr. F.
W. Gunsaulus, Dr. J. M. Buckley, Mr. Melvill Dewey. Dramatic read
ings by leading interpreters, and authors' readings by popular Ameri
can writers, will continue to be features of the programme.

MUSIC.
Rogers’ Band and Orchestra will be doubled in size. A Chautau
qua Banjo Club will be organized, a college glee club will be present
in July, and soloists of high rank will be secured to appear in frequent
concerts. Mr. W. H. Sherwood, Dr. H. I. Palmer, Mr. I. V. Flagler
and Mr. L. S. Leason will continue to take an active part in the music.

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE.
The management is arranging for special lectures and talks on
helpful subjects to young people; for a model United States Congress,
under the direction of Prof. W. K. Wicks, of Sj racuse, N. Y., in which
the boys will be taught parliamentary rules and Congressional methods.
OTHER DEPARTMENTS.
All the other departments will be efficiently equipped, and will
continue to do thorough .work. Details will be announced early in 1892.
