From Thursday's Kvknino Hkbald- The happiest crowd that has gath ered in Albany in years, was congre gated all along Broad street and in the saloons and publia places last night. Every man had to drink once to Cleve, and once to Steve, then to Rus sell. Baby Bnth and her mater also had to be toasted, and nothing could be expected but that so many toasts should raise tbe spirits of the enthusi astic Democrats to a point where the safety valve was unable to ‘carry off the Amount of steam thqt rose to each head in the happy crowd. Every person felt good and took particular pains to let everybody else know It. All night long, and into the hours of Hie morning did tbe revel go on, and as a consequence some of them will be unable to take part in to-night’s celebration. From Dry Goods and Fashions, —Long ulsters, having triple and re movable capes. —Finely-corded velveteen for dress combinations. —Felt capotes of braided felts in strips or one piece. —Satin striped and figured gauze for dancing drosses. —Felt lints trimmed'with fur, lace and ostrich tips at once. —Felt clot li for trimming, striped or bordered with fur felt, —Chiffon embroidered lmlidker- chiefs for pretty throat jabots. —flip capes of velvet trimmed with jot ami feather edging. —Mink and Astrnchan shoulder capes for tho first cool days. —Flannel skirts finished with an embroidered edge over lace. Girls’ bonnets of glnce silk, trimmed with velvet or plush. Honnlor Itciibcu Jo non’ Mucceaaor. It appears to be generally under stood In Baker county that Gov. B. F, Hudspeth will be put forward by that county as the successor to the late Hon. Reuben Jones in the State Son ate. He will probably have no oppo sition in Baker, and this being Baker’s time, under the rotation system, to name the Senator, the other two coun ties of tbe district will aoqnlesoe in Baker’s ohoioe. The Coming Meteoric Shower. Meteorio showers of extraordinary brllllanoy are looked for on the nights of the 18th, 14th and 15th of thlB month. These November star show ers are particularly grand in certain years, and we are now approaohing one of the periods of grandeur. The cometary fragments seem to emerge from that part of the heavena In which we see the constellation Leo, and the meteorio showers of November are accordingly known as the Leonids.
