SORES AND
ULOERS.
Sores nnd Ulcers never become chronic
unless the blood is i:x poor condition—is
sluggish, weak and unable to throw off
the poisons that accumulate in it. The
system must be relieved of the unhealthy
matter through the sore, and great danger
to life would follow should it heal before
the blood has been made pure and healthy
and all impurities eliminated from the sys
tem. S.S.S. begins the cure by first cleans
ing and invigorating the blood, building
up the general health and removing from
tLe system A CONSTANT DRAM
effete-matter. UPON THE SYSTEM.
When this has been accomplished the dis
charge gradually ceose3. and the 6ore or
ulcer heals. It is the tendency of these old
Indolent sores to grow worse nnd worse,
aud eventually to destroy the bones. Local
applications, while soothing and to some
extent alleviate pain, cannot reach the seat
of the trouble. S. S. S. does, and no matter
how apparently hopeless your condition,
even though your constitution has broken
down, it will bring relief when nothing
else can. It supplies the rich, pure blood
necessary to heal the sore and nourish
the debilitated, diseased body.
Mr. T. B. Talbert, Lock Box 245,Winona, Miss.,
aays: "Six years nco my leg from the knee to

is apt to become chronic.

Mr. J. L. Sutton, a young man who
is in the employ of the Red Cypress
Lumber Company at Pretoria, called at
the Herald office this morning and
gavo us the particulars of a robbery of
which he was the unfortunate victim
last night.
Mr. Sutton came to the city yesterday
morning to take in the carnival, aud af
ter the exciting day lu tho crowd and
jam, he retired at 12 o’clock last night
in «. room nt the Depot Reitaurant. He
hod 'our or five room mates, whom ho did

pocket in his coat.
Mr. Sutton slept soundly and awaked
this morning shortly after sunrise
When he awoke, two of his room mates
had gone aud the $45 whioh he had left
in his coat pocket was missing. In the
little pocket were two $20 bills und a $5

Mr. Sutton has reported the matter to
the police, and they are at work on the
case. It is to be hoped that they may
obtain «ome clue that will lead to the
arrest oi the guilty parties.

NUT GROWERS
TO ORGANIZE FOR PURPOSES OP ADVANC
ING THEIR INDUSTRY.
From Friday’s Daily Herald
The nut growers of the Southern
States, from Florida to California, are to
organize themselves into an association
for the advancement and protection of
their industry. A preliminary confer
ence of promoters of the scheme was
held in Albany yesterday. Organiza
tion was perfected, officers elected and
plans for futre operations mapped out.
It is understood that Dr. J. F. Wil
son, of Poulan, is the originator of the
8oheme.' Ho was met in Albany yester
day, in response to invitation, by sev*
eral of the most prominent pecan grow
ers of this immediate seotion, and an
interesting conference was held. The
meeting took place in the office of Mr.
R. H. Warren.
The now organization is to be knovn
as the Southern Nut Growers’ Associa
tion, and will draw its membership
from California to Florida. Its im
portance to this seotion will be due to
tho pecan industry, whioh is already
well established in Southwest Georgia
and is beoomiug more important every
year.
There is no organization of nut
growers iu tho country, and an associa
tion snoh as is now proposed could ac
complish a great deal of good, it is be
lieved, in tho interest of pecan growers
iu this section aud growers of other va
rieties of nuts throughout the south.
The association will go to work with
the Idea that the nut is not appreciated
by the public, aud an effort will be
made, in a measure, to educate the
masses on that score. The association
will seek to bring about an increased
production of pecans and other nuts,
and educate the public to a fuller appre
ciation of the value of nuts as a food
product.
The following officers were eleoted
yesterday:
Z'.G. M. Bacon, DeWitt, President.
It. J. Bacon, Bacon ton, Vice Presi
dent for Georgia.
J. M. Tift, Albany, Treasurer.
J. F. Wilson, Poulan, Secretary.
The officers of the association will
correspond with nut growers through
out all the nut producing states, and the
membership will be made as large as
possible. There will be another meet
ing at no distant future date, and It
will probably be held somewhere in this
state.
FOUR HORSES TRADED
For Dr. W. L. Davis’s Locomobile by Mr. K. W.
Jordan.
A rather unusual trade occurred in
Alba y Saturday, when Mr. R. W. Jor
dan, the well known horse drover,
traded four horses to Dr. W. L. Davis
for liis locomobile.
Dr Davis bought the locomobile about
a year ago to use in his extensive coun
try praotioe, but the maohine has not
proved the success that Dr. DaviB
thought it would, so he traded it to Mr.
Jordan Saturday for four horses.
As Mr. Jordan will use the locomobile
for city travel mostly, it will bo more
convenient for him than it has been for
its former owner.
