EXCELSIOR DOTS.
Mr. Editor:- I have abandoned
TTBhfarming projects, and have dt
fermined'to set about a brief com¬
mentary upon the historical parts
of Bulloch county, for the use of
the A liance. The importance of
such a work must be at once obvi¬
ous. If there is anything of which
the citizens of Bulloch county can
justiyfeelproud.it is tiie Excel¬
sior High School. We see on
every hand evidences of the vast
good it is accomplishing. It is
preparing young men aud young
ladies in a thorough and efficient
manner, for the stern realities of
life. What work is nobler? What
mission higher? The closing of
the first month of the present year
last Friday was watched by the
pupils and patrons with marked
interest. The following pupils
were on the roll of honor: Willi 0
Deekle, Miss Annie Darsey, John
Everett, Jodie L. Duncan, Oscar J.
Franklin, J. A. Jones, Willie B.
Jones and J imps B. Olliff. Rev.
(’. H. Spurgeon lias indeed gone to
his rest, he bore the insignia of
a crucified Saviour too manifestly
to leave any doubt as to his union
with him. There has been noth¬
ing very interesting in Excelsior
during the past week.
