though brief attack of paralysis, that
good and noble man, Dr. D. N. Austin
breathed his last at his residence in
place.
At all Hrriiw, and under all circnm
stafices, death is abhorring to human
nature; but when his quiver pierces
gem so prominent among the useful—so
brilliant with dazzling
one we now bemoan,
hurtful are the chastening*
doubly difficult the attainment of res
ignalion.
Tlie subject of our attention wrs not
only a worthy and beloved citizen, bnt
an honored and revered Mason—one
foremost in the ranks. Dates prove
that in the year 1S4S, in Perry, Ga., he
was raised to the sublime, degree of
iMaster Mason, and from that day
henceforward lie continued steadily to
rise in the scale of that grand
Temple, with which his very soul be
came entwined, and to the promot-on
of which he devoted all the strength
and energy of his manhood, for in 1852
he was exalted in Perry, Ga., and the
succeeding year was made Height. Tem
plar in Macon, Ga., St. Omer Com-
mandery. Iu 1865 he took the A. & A.
Scotch rite in FoitYalley, Ga.
Dtirlng 18 years of this time Brother
Austin served as a most acceptable and
successful Worshipful Master of Fort
Yalley Lodge, No. 110. Likewise with
equal fidelity and merit he seryed as
High Priest of Perry (afterwards chaug
ed to Austin Chapter for 23 years; and
for four years occupied the awarded po
sition of D. G. M., of the 1st district
of Georgia.
Dr. Austin was mild and gentle in
disposition, tnie aud warm-hearted in
nature, and with cheerful alacrity
would advise tlie erring and inform the
uninformed, and so far as possible
sist the unfortunate of his fellow-be
ings. We are even told that in the
last- moments of his consciousness, just-
before the paralytic stroke, while con
versing with some newly initiated
members, he could scarcely be restrain
ed from speaking, for it was discovered
that his anxiety and endeavors to in
struct were too exciting for his feeble
condition. Hence iu memory of this
receutly deceased aid highly esteemed
brother D. N. Austin, we adopt tlie fol
lowing resolutions:
Resolved 1. That, whereas, it has
pleased onr omniscient Father to re
move from our Sanctum and Temple
that bright star and efficient worker,
brother D. N. Austin, sensibly and
strikingly is it demonstrated that death
loves a shining mark.
Resolved 2. That if Heaven’s reward
awaits the generous, sympathetic, char
itable Christian, so perfectly illustrated
| by Ins meek, Unostentatious life, sure
ly it were his.
Resolved 3. That the death of one so
learned and advanced in Masonry—one
whose entire life had been devoted to
its interest, and whose happiness was
centred in its success, will produce a
shock of pain at home and abroad
throughout the Lodges of the State.
Resolved 4. That while we, the
brotherhood especially, sincerely and
profoundly lament our privation, the
Chnrch.and whole community likewise
Spprosiats their sorrow and mourn their
heavy loss.
Resolved o. That, though sliickeu by
disease, with a lifeless body and palsied
tongue, yet we Deed no dying testimo
ny to prove his aceeptance in Heaven,
and believe that his quiet death but in
troduced his happy spirit into its bright
and beautiful Temple above.
Resolved 6. That though God’s
judgments are unsearchable and His
ways past finding out, still we bow sub
missively and yet with keen sorrow to
His Holy will, believing that he is too
wise to err, and too good to be unkind.
Resolved 7. That we offer onr heart
felt- sympathy to -the bereaved family
in their great affliction, and pray Heav
en’s choicest blessings upon them in
this sad dispensation - Of Providence.
Resolved 8. That a copy of these res
olutions be tendered fhe family of the
deceased, published in the Advertiser,
Mirror, and The Hohe Journal, and

LIVER PILLS,
FOR THE CURE OF
Hepatitis, or Liver Complaint,
DYSPEPSIA and sick headache.
Symptoms of a Diseased Liver.
P AIN in the right side, under the
edge of the ribs, increases on pres
sure; sometimes die pain is in the left
side; the patient is rarely able to lie
on the left side; sometimes the pain is
felt under the shoulder blade, and it
frequently extends to the top of the
shoulder, and is sometimes mistaken
for rheumatism in the arm. The
stomach is affected with loss of appe
tite and sickness; the bowels in gen
eral are costive, sometimes alternative
with lax; the head is troubled with
pain, accompanied with a dull, heavy
sensation in the back part. There is
generally a considerable loss of mem
ory, accompanied with a painful sen
sation of having left undone some
thing which ought to have been done.
A slight, dry cough is sometimes an
attendant. The patient complains of
weariness and debility; he is easily
startled, his feet are cold or burning,
and he complains of a prickly sensa
tion of the skin; his spirits are low;-
and although he is satisfied that exer
cise would be beneficial to him, yet
he can scarcely summon up fortitude
enough to try it. In fact, he distrusts
every remedy. Several of the above
symptoms attend the disease, but cases !
have occurred where few of them ex
isted, yet examination of the body,
after death,, has shown the liver to
have been extensively deranged.
