CITATION TO OPEN ROAD.

Whereas, R N H oltzolaw, A E Barnes,
J F Logan, et al, have filed their appli
cation for a new publio road in the Low
er Town and Lower Eleventh districts of
said county, beginning at a point on the
Perry and Hawkinsville publio road and
running east by the station of Tivola.eto.
(Said road more fully described in the
September minutes, 1908, of the County
Commissioners Court of Roads and
Revenues for Baid county); and whereas,
the reviewers appoints for said road
have marked off the same conformably
to law, and have reported that said road
would be of publio utility:
Now, therefore, this is to put all per
sons on notice that said application will
be finally heard and acted upon by said
County Commissioners’ Court of Roads
and Revenues for said county at the
next term of said court, to be held on
the first Tuesday iu .Tauuary, 1904.

Methodist church at the home of
Mr. F. M\ Houser last Monday
night was a decided success, the
parlor being full to overflowing.
The program was excellent and
each item was rendered without a
flaw. There were choice selections
of vocal and instrumental musio
and recitations.
We are told the violin musio by
Miss Flis Mathews of Macon, the
songs by little Miss Ruby Harris
of Fort Valley, Misses Gena and
Mattie Vaughn of California de
serve especial praise.

dial, and all who heard were de

It is hoped the suocess of this
will persuade the ladies to present
other like entertainments.

County Fair Affairs.
The executive eommittee, offi
cials and stock-holders of the
Houston County Fair Association
are earnestly requested to meet at
the court house in Perry at 10
o’olock Tuesday morning, Janua
ry 5th, 1804. The purpose of the
meeting is to wind up the affairs
of the association.

—The County Commissioners’
were in session with the county
Board of health last Tuesday,
and because of the prevalence of
small pox in the county and oth
er sections of the state, an order
making vaccination compulsory
was passed. This action is in ao-
cord with instructions issued by
the state board of health. The
rules adopted will be published
next week.
—Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wood
ard and son, Master Sanford, of
near Bonaire, were in Perry Tues
day, guests of Mrs. Bettie Staf
ford, sister of Mrs. Woodard.
Several other relatives and neigh
bors in Perry were her guests at
dinner that day. Mrs. Emmett
Woodard of Den ward was also a
guest.

day, the choir music was materi
ally added to by the violin ac
compauient of Miss Mathews of
Macon. .

Thomas W. Murray and Miss Gus-
sie Watson, the | marriage to be
solemnized at the home of the
bride’s father, Mr. Riohmoud H.
Watson, near Wellston,^ at 8
o’olock Wednesday afternoon, De

will be at home at Hattie, Prof.
Murray being principal of the
publio school there. .
—Mr. Wm B. Gurr and daugh
ter of Gainesville visisted last
week in and near Perry, arriving
Christmas morning. He was born
and grew to manhood at Perry,
but has been absent 80 years. He
is a brother of Mrs. G’Naun in
Perry and of Mr. T. D. Gurr
near town. No one knew him
when he came, and he knew very
few people.
—The first quarterly confer
ence of this Methodist charge
will be at Perry on the 17th and
18th of January, the third Sun
day and Monday.
—The heaviest Houston hog
we have heard of this season weigh
ed 448 pounds and was killed by
Mr. T. J. Fagan at Myrtle.
—With the exception of a very
few days, excellent bog-killing
weather has prevailed throughout
November and December.
