DEATH OF MRS MEANS
Mrs Sallie Dubwody Means
youngest daughter of the late Rev
Jones Dunwody, of Houston Coun
ty quietly passed away at her
home at Elko December 3rd, 1S22.
Having been reared in a Christian
home it was quite natural for her
to manifest the beauties of
Christian life in her own homo.
This she did her long life
through, honesty, truthfulness and
sincerity were the jewels that be
decked her life and her controling
principle was “Jet the words of my
mouth and the meditations of my
heart, be aeoeptablo in thy sight
O, Lord, my strength and my re
deems” lor in “her tongue was ths
law of "kindness.'' No rough lan
guage has ever been heard to escape
the lips Of “Abut Sallie.” She
carried about with her the sun
shine of heaven. Many years ago,
•he set her house in order, and
was dniy waiting for her welcome
to the shore. For many long years
she suffered ill health and eould
not enjoy the pleasures of life,
but she bore it all with wonderful
patience, at ail timeB reflecting the
beauties of , the “cloud's
silver lining,” because she had. set
her afflictions on things above,
and looked upward,
Her pastor testified to her
beautifnl Christian e h a r a-
eter; and the beautiful floral
tribute evidenced the esteem in
which she was held. After many
weeks of intense suffering, death
came to her relief and now her
battle is fonght, her victory won
and her life's warfare is ended.
Thus star by star declines,
Till all are passed away, ‘
As morning hieh and higher
shines
To pure and perfect day;
Nor sink those stars in empty
nigh£
But hide themselves in heaven's
owd light.
She leaves in sorrow one son,
four grand-children two step sons,
two step daughters three nieces
two nephews, but we all know
where to find her.

Neal McPhaul of Poulan, Ga.,

the death of their little son, 16
months old.
