of Mother, Father, Teacher, in the
child’s life and the close bond ex
isting between tho three for the

Skellie and the teachers, and an
enjoyable half an hour spent in a

Thursday the school was honor
ed by a visit from Mr. Goddard,
the State School Supervisor and
Miss Parker. They visited 'the
different rooms and gave delight
ful little talks. The teachers,
seniors and juniors assembled af
terschool and Mr. Goddard and
Miss Parker gave us some very in - ;
spiring talks.
Since then I believe many of
the students have considered the
subject of their talks and decided
what they will do after they finish
high school.
The school bus brought some
new desks and Mr. Gooden has
requested that little boys demy
temselves the pleasure of carving
.their sweethearts names on the
top of them.
Friday the county had a teach
ers institute at the court house.
Mr Gooden attended much to the
sorrow of the juniors who had to
miss their geometry lesson.
The F. T. A., met last Friday at
the school building. All those
who had prevailed on mothers,
aunts or others interested to come
will receive a piece of home made
cake. The meeting was the twen
ty-sixth anniversary of tho asso
ciation and a very appropriate and
interesting program was carried
out.
The pupils are urged not to for
get tliat they are to raise a half a
mile of pennies. Every pupil is
to raise at least one foot and more
if possible.
Ferry High is much excited over

Are You True To Yourself?
“This abovfcalj: To thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night lh^ day,
Thou canst not be false to any man.”—Shakespeare.
To bo true to yourself you must make the most of
your opportunities. This is the greatest nation in
known world. The United States is known the world
over as the laild of opportunities. Are you taking ad
vantage of the opportunities that come to you?
“ Vs a raa i th inketh, so is he.” After all, we get
pretty much wbat we go after in this world and
most assuredly so If we go.after it hard enough.
Lovo begets love, kingness begets kindnes, industry
thrift aud economy begets scccess.
To take advantage of an opportunity to make
money, ypu must necessarily bo ready when the op
portunity presents itself, and to do . this often re
quires some capital. Let us help to accumulate this
capital by taking care of your money* Deposit it with
