Tull
The March meeting of the P. T.
A. was he 1<I at the school honse
last Friday afternoon, with a good
company of ladies present. All re
ports were good, especially the
news from Mr. Gooden that our
school has been recommended to
go on the accredited School list,
that we have attained tho standard
required and that if we still fail to
get on it, it will be only the build
ing that will keep us off.
The spirit of the club has been
and is that of heartiest cooperation
with the teachers, and full ap
preciation of their zealous efforts
for tho good of our school. The
Treasurer’s report shows that
funds are being made constantly,
but just as certainly being expend
ed for tho many needs of the
school, so that not much remains
on hand.
The main interest of the after
noon centered in the reports of
the various teachers on the re
sults of the contest in the rooms
over the raising of feet and yards
of pennies for the school. The re~
suit was iudeed splendid, a little
more than 1-7 th of a mile of
pennies having been raised, a total
of $132.81. By rooms the reports
were ns follows:
Miss Miller’s —36.00
Miss Green’s—$7.00
Miss Edward’s—310.00
Miss Itiley’s—$22,39
Miss Moat’s—310.00
Miss Coucho’s—$9.47
Miss -Turner’s—$23.30
Miss Ponder's—$32.50
Miss Hall’s—$7.00
Prof. Gooden’s—$6.00.
It was d<cided to givo some
form of a good time to each of
the rooms going over 20 dollars,
and to put all the money baok in
to supplying the most urgent
needs of the various rooms
Tho program for the afternoon
was given by the children of Miss
Moate’s and Miss Riley’s rooms,
and very much appreciated.

UNVEILING EXERCISES AT THE PERRY
BAPTIST SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Superintendent of tke Bap
list Sunday School had anneunt:
ed on the previous Sunday that on
the following Sunday there would
be an unveiling in our school and
would not tell what was to be un
veiled.
For two years or more tke Sun
day school has been working on
tho six point reoord system, to
reaeh the required aim for a Stan
dard.A-1 Sunday Soheol.
This aim had reoently been at
tained and on the day tbe aohoel
unveiled the banner for tho achieve
moat.
Tho youngest and the oldest
members, Master Lewis Gay and
Mrs. N C Welkins pulled tho eord
the* huveiled tho bauner.
The children marched arouud
chareh singing
“Onward Christain Soldiers” and
very fitting words from our Super
iatendont r Mr. J, P. Ethridge
whose eonseerated leaderehip had
loti us up to this mark in Sunday
soheol work. Thai the seheel
joined hands and sang ‘‘Blase Be
the Tie That Binds.”
It was very impressive te see
strong men and women and beys
and girls united in the band with
the Pastor standing in the eenter,
all united in the Lord’s work.
Though this is the first Sunday
School in the Rehoboth Associa
tion to reach this standard, let us
hot be satisfied, but press onward
in this great work and do more for
Him who has done so much for us.

Statistics show by actual observation that six out of
every seven persons in the United Slates are dependent
on relatives or charity for support at the age of sixty-
five. Will you one of the six dependent ones, or will
you be the seventh who is independent and comfortable
in old age?
It is your right and privilege to live comfortable,
but in this great land of opportunity, any one who has
any degree of thrift and industry can liva comfortable
and still have something left to lay up for old age and a
rainy day.
The best way to lay aside something regularly and
systematically by depositing it in a good safe, sound,
bank, like ours, where it will accumulate.
