44 J he Spiceof Life'', presented
Friday evening under the able
direction of Aliss Nellie Lou
Tippens, was well received by the
public.
Susie Mae Thompson of the1
Senior class was the leading lady. !
There were quite a number of
high school boysaud girls in the
play.
The Spanish danco by Miss
Tippens aud Jube Strother was
especially good.
We, the Seniors, welcome Mr.
E S. Cowan of Kentucky into our
class.
Lucile Jordan, who attends Wes
leyan, played the leading role in
"The Romantic Lady" which was
presented last Thursday in Macou.
From the write up iu tbe papers,
we know ' Shorty" made a hit as
she always does.
Basketball season has begun.
Did you know our bo}'? won over
Hawkinsville Friday night? Did
you kuow the score was 54-24?
Hilt (as usual) played a very good
game. In fact, all of the boys play
ed well.' Tuesday, they went to
Pinehurst.
Friday night there will be a
double header at Cochran. Every
body ought to go and see our
teams win.
We think this yell which we
learned iu chapel Tuesday very
appropriate for Perry "Perry,
weiner! Perry, weiner! Perry,
weiner! Hot Dawg!'*
Dont forget the P.-T. A. meet
ing Friday afternoon at three
o'clock! It is vory important.
CHRISTMAS CANTATA
A rare musical treat is in store
for the people of this community
in the Christmas cantata, "The
Christ-Child" which will be given
at tbe Methodist Cburch at 8:00
o'clock Sunday night, December

of Perry.
This is a musical entertainment
that everyone will like and it is
hoped that people from all sections
of the county will come to enjoy
it.
'THE SPICE OF LIFE"
The musical comedy, "T h e
Spice of Life", given at the School
Auditorium Friday night by local
talent coached by Miss Nellie Lou
Tippens. of the Daniel Producing
Co., under the auspices of tho
Perry P. T. A. was all the name
implies. Tt was full of wit, spicy,
up to date and most unique.
The choruses were especially
good, and the costumes wero very
attractive.
The unusual mnsical and his
tronic talent of Perry people was
never more strikingly displayed
than in "The Spice of Life". The
large number of people who ..snw
this play are enthusiastic in th* ir
praise of it.

securely iu containers that will
withstand the strain cf handling.

u. D. C. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR TO BE
HELD TUESDAY. DECEMBER 15
Every December the Clinton
Duncan Chapter o? the United
Daughters ul tbe Confederacy has
a Christmas bazaar. As this is the
only time during the year that the
U. D. (J. sponsors anything for
raising funds, these annual bazaars
have received a liboral patronage.
Not only for this reason have they
been patronized, but because they
afford a splendid opportunity for
Christmas shoppers to buy pretty
and inexpensive presents for their
relatives and friends....
This year the bazaar will be
held on Tuesday afternoon and
night, Dec. 15 at the Court House.
This year the U. D. C. is hoping
for a larger patronage than ever,
as the funds raised will be used
in placing markers on the grave
of every Confederate soldier in
Houston County.
Besides the gift booth, all kinds
of home made cakes, candies, sand
wiches, and hot chocolate will be
for sale. An oyster supper will be
served too. There Will be other at
