soring the “Pack a Pocketbook”
program in Perry. Mrs. R. L. Sutton
is the head of the committee hand

The class members are packing
j pocketbooks with needles, pins, hos- *
iery and other useful and scarce
items for shipment to Europe’s
needy people.
Allen Whipple was at home from
Emory University for the weekend.
He had as his guest one of his class
mates at Emory, Bill van Pelt of
Pittsburg, Pa.
Miss Joyce Andrew, a student at
Wesleyan College, spent the week
end at home.

from Wesleyan Sunday.

The marriage of Miss Patricia
Katherine Johnston, daughter ~of
Dr. and Mrs. Leo Smith Johnston,
and Mr. William A Wilkinson, son
of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Wilkinsom
was solemnized at 8 p. m. Friday,
April 23, at Crescent Hill Christian
Church in Louisville, Ky.. The Rev.
Cameron Meacham performed the I
double ring ceremony in a church 1
decorated with palms antj bas
kets of white snapdragons.
The bridegroom’s father served as
best man, and ushers were Darrell
Phillips and James Lee. Miss Shir
ley Lee Wilkinson, sister of the I

wore a gown of American beauty
taffeta which featured a bustle bow.
She wore spring flowers in her hair
and carried a garden boukuet. The
bridesmaids, Miss Colleen Caden
and Miss Nancy Bosoon, wore pow
der blue dresses and carried spring
flowers.
The bride’s white slipper satin
gown had a five-point neckline,
bustle back and train. Her veil of
1 silk illusion was held by a coronet
of seed pearls and she carried a bou
quet of white roses and sweetpeas,
centered with a purple orchid.
Following the ceremony, a re
ception was given at the home of
the bride’s parents. After a short
wedding trip, the couple are mak
j ing their home in Louisville.
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION ENTERTAINS
IN HONOR OF WOOLEN MILL EXECUTIVES

gathered at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Mayo Davis last Wednesday
night for an excellent barbecue
given by the Perry Development
Association in honor of Mr. and Mrs.
D. T. Nconan, Sr., and D. T. Noo
nan, Jr., of Pittsfield, Mass.
The Noonans were en route to [
'heir home from Bonita Springs, |
Fla., where they have a summer
home.
Mr. Noonan, Sr. and Mr. Noo- I
nan, Jr., are executives of the Berk
shire Woolen Mills of Pittsfield,
Mass. They are in this section in
connection with locating a site for a
Southern mill.
