Watkins, Sr. of Perry, at St.
Paul’s Episcopal Church in
Macon, Saturday afternoon,
June 20 at two o’clock. The
Rev. Prank Allen performed
the double ring ceremony
lor which Herbert Herring
ton presented a program of
wedding music.
The sanctuary of the
church was decorated with
arrangements of white snap
dragons, carnations and pom
poms flanking the Crosi and
brass candelabra with burn
ing cathedral tapers com
pleting the setting.
The bride, who was given
in marriage by her father,
was beautiful in her gown
of white silk organza featur
ing a Victorian neckline,
long full sleeves and empire
bodice overaid with Chanti
ly lace and seed pearls. A
Hat bow held the detachable
chapel, length train edged
with scalloped Chantilly lace.

Attending the bride as

bridesmaids were Miss Betty
Nell Watkins of Perry, sister
of the groom; Miss Gail Ful
mer of Graniteville, S. C.;
Miss Glenna Cain of Dun
woody and Miss Judy Rein
ertsen of Macon. They were
dressed alike in floor length
gowns of apricot chiffon fea
turing an empire bodice with
full skirt and sleeves. The
Victorian collar and cuffs
were appliqued with white
daisies. Their headpieces of
apricot also featured the
white daisies. They carried
nosegay of white Marguerite
daisies with a white beaded
cup from which white and
apricot streamers fell.
Mr. Watkins served as his
son’s best man. Ushers were

Park, Maryland; Richard D.
Taylor of Macon; and Hor-

The wedding is planned for
Saturday evening, June 27, at {

blue silk worsted costume
suit and chanel jacket with
bracelet length sleeves and
matching accessories. She
pinned a corsage of white
cymbidium orchids at her
shoulder.
The groom’s mother wore
a pink long sleeve knit dress
with matching sleeveless lace
coat and accessories. Her
corsage was of pink cymbi
dium orchids.
The bride’s grandmother,
Mrs. Horace Weems, chose a
dress of beige lace over taf
feta with matching accessor
ies. The groom’s grandmoth
er, Mrs. Cyde Little wore a
mint green linen dress and
matching accessories. Each
had a corsage of white cym
bidium orchids.
Following the ceremony,
the bride’s parents entertain
ed at a reception at the Ma
con Garden Center.
The bride’s table, laid
with yellow taffeta cloth
caught at the corners with
white and apricot daisies
and yellow bows, held the
tiered wedding cake embos
sed with yellow roses and
white daisies and candelabra
and an epergnette filled with
white and apricot daisies and
yellow snapdragons. Mrs.
John B. Parker, aunt of the
bride, and Mrs. John Blue
Calhoun, HI of Pc- y cut
and served the cake.
The refreshment tables and
guest book table were over
laid with similar cloths and
held the bridesmaids’ nose
gays. Mrs. Lorraine S. Bag
nail, aunt of the bride, Mrs.
George K. Voseipka of Per
ry, Mrs. Jinx Holton of Ma
con and Mrs. Keith Lowery
of Warner Robins poured
punch. Miss Linda Watkins,
the groom’s sister, kept the

day evening at Howard John
son Restaurant in Macon.

were in Macon Sunday, at
which time Rev. Hodges was

ices at the Mabel Whit Baptist

The bride-elect was gradu
ated from Early County
High School in Blakely and
will receive a B. S. degree in
elementary education from
Valdosta State College in De
cember. She is a member of
Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Mr. Nipper is the grandson

Paul and Susan will leave
Thursday for Hawaii to make
their home for a four year
tour of duty.

place at the home of the
bride-elect with members of
the immediate families pres
ent on August 22.

Rites Solemnized
Miss Dorothy Nell Dußois
and Donald Adrian Norris Jr.
were married at 3 o’clock in
the afternoon of June 7 at the
Perry United Methodist Church.
Dr. Leonard Cochran officiated.
A foliage background provid
ed an appropriate and beauti
ful setting for the nuptial. A
central arch served as the fo
cal point. Two altar bouquets
of pink and white gladioli and
pink carnations were flanked
by standard candelabra.
Mrs. R. Hoke Smith, organ
ist, and Mrs, James Worrall, so
loist, presented a program of
wedding music.
The bride, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Harry R. Dußois, was
given in marriage by her fa
ther. She wore a gown of white
peau de soie with an overlay
of silk organza appliqued with
lace and embroidered with
pearls. The dress featured a
scalloped neckline, Empire
waistline and bell shaped
sleeves. Her train of peau de
sox, also with appliques and
pearls, was attached at the
shoulders with tiny covered
buttons and flowed into cas
cade beyond the hemline of the
dress. Her elbow length illusion
veil was attached to a petal
shaped tiara of irridescent
beads and seed pearls. She
carried a lace covered Bible
with an arrangment of a white
orchid and waxy stephanotis
floats. Separate clusters of
stephanotis were placed on a
gentle cascade of ribbons.

Perry, sisters of the bride;
Miss Mary Claire Barnard of
Patterson and Miss Jayne
Wynn of Screven, cousins of
the bride. They were dressed
in pink crepe trimmed in lace.
Their headbands were hand
made pink roses with seed
pearls. A graceful crescent cas
cade of elegance carnations
and ivy complimented the
gowns.
The groom, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Dubois chose a light blue
chose his father as best man.
Ushers were Gerald Norris, the
groom’s brother, Keiland Hair
rington of Perry, Ray Mat
thews of Americas, and Pelesy
Barnard of Patterson.
For her daughter’s wedding,
Mrs. Dubois choe a light blue
knit dress with matching ac
cessories and a corsage of
white cymbidiums. The groom’s
mother wore a mint green
crepe with chiffon sleeves anu
white accessories, and a white
cymbtdium corsage. The bride’s
maternal grandmother, Mrs. J.
P. Kisher, wore a mint green
knit with beige accessories.
After the ceremony, the
bride’s parents entertained at
a reception in the church social
hall. Miss Barbara Jones and
Mrs. Michael Agers of Atlanta
greeted the guests and intro
duced them to the receiving
line.
The bride’s table, covered
with while satin and an over
lay of white imported lace,
held the five tiered wedding
cake mounted on an antique
mirror. Columns entwined with
miniature roses held the lop
layer which held two handmade
cupids from which a cascade
of handmade roses and grapes
flowed. Complementing the
cake was a three branched
candelabrum holding lighted
pink tapers. Mrs. J. P. Barn
ard Jr. of Patterson and Mrs.
Vernon Wynn of Sceven, aunts
of the bride cut the cake.
The refreshment table was
decorated as the bride’s table
and held the hand cut antique
crystal punch bowl. Assisting
i in serving and entertaining
were Miss Shirley Smith of
i Butler, Miss Glenda Mullins of

Mrs. Keiland Hairrington in
vited the guests to register at
a table covered with white sat

versary candle with miniature

cessories and the orchid from
her bridal bouquet.

Hostesses at the bridesmaids’
luncheon Saturday, June 6, at
the New Perry Hotel, were
Mrs. Dudly Jones and Miss
Barbara Jones.
An arrangement of pink car
nations, snapdragons and mums
with ribbon streamers from the
flowers to each place card with
a corsage for the guests and
bride-elect. The hostesses pre
sented Ihe bride-elect with the
wedding invitation framed in
silver. Miss Dußois gave min
iature monteith bowls to her
attendants. Covers were laid
for 11.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Norris
Sr. were hosts at a barbecue
cook out honoring their son
and Miss Dußois at their home
on Langston Road before the
rehearsal at the church. Twen
ty members of the wedding
party were present.
Parties
On May 30, Miss Dußois was
honored by Mrs. Ronald Lock
erman and Mrs. Bill Foy with
a miscellaneous shower at Och
lahatchee Club House. This de
lightful event was enjoyed by
20 friends of the bride-elect. A
delicious ice course was served
by the hostesses. Miss Dußois
was presented a portable mix
er.
On May 31, Mrs. William
Becham honored Miss Dußois
with a miscellaneous shower at
her home on Macy Avenue with
15 friends present. A delicious
dessert plate was served by
Miss Becky Becham and Miss
Ginger Dußois. The bride
elect’s gift from the hostess
was eight crystal glasses in her
chosen pattern.
Mrs. Mario Ellis, Mrs. John
ny Moreland and Mrs. Alton
Ellis were hostess at a miscel
laneous shower honoring Miss
Dußois on May 20 at the Ellis
home on Cater Extension. Up
on her arrival, the honoree was
presented a corsage of white
carnations.
The gifts were presented to
Miss Dußois in a gold trash
container. The hostesses’ gift
was a kitchen garbage contain
er filled with many useful
gifts for the kitchen, also a
white gown and peignoir set. A
delicious dessert plate using
the color scheme of pink and
white was served by the host
esses. Thirty friends of the
bride-elect enjoyed this lovely
party.
