Conference Meets
March 17 In Atlanta
The Georgia Conference
on Children and Youth met
March 17, at the Marriott
Motel Hotel, Atlanta,
Georgia.
Mr. Vance, representing
the volunteers of the
Department of Family and
Children Services, spoke on
the panel. The subject was:
“Don’t Get Hung-Up: Be
Involved; ” with Mrs.
Catherine Healey, State
Volunteer Coordinator,
Department of Family and
Children Services acting as
moderator. Mr. Vance told of
the work done by the Perry
Recreation Group. Other
panelists were Mrs. George
LeFont and Miss Lochraine,

very proud of all the work
that the volunteers of the
Perry Recreation Depart
ment is doing for the youth of
Perry and of Mr. Vance who
was chosen to represent this
group on the panel.
Capitol Building Sets
New Visiting Schedule
Georgia’s Capitol Building
will have a new week-end
schedule beginning April
2nd. The historic building
will be open on Sundays from
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. to permit
Georgians and visitors to the
State to visit the building and
grounds. Georgia Building
Authority Director Steve
Polk announced the new
schedule and indicated that
hourly tours will be con
ducted. Free parking ad
jacent to the Capitol will be
available to visitors. The
new schedule was developed
to provide an opportunity for
those who might not be able
to visit the Capitol during
week days or on Saturday.
Children and adults alike
will find the exhibits, ar
tifacts, and varied collec
tions most interesting.
Georgia information will be
available at the Information
Booth located on the second
floor. If desired, reser
vations for group tours may
be made by writing the
Georgia Building Authority,
