Harrison High School Band Visits Perry
Indiana Band Performs
At Perry High School
The Harrison High School
Band from West I-afayette,
Indiana chose Perry as a
stopping point on their week
long louring trip - their
destination being Disney
World in Orlando where their
marching band will perform.
The Perry Band Students
hosted the members of the
band overnight Monday,
April 3.
The Harrison band under
the leadership of Mrs.
Gladys Wright presented a
concert on Tuesday morning

musicians. Only half of the
band members were able to
make this trip.

Homemaker Class offered
by Miss Dee Weems, County
Extension Home Economist
and sponsored by Jones
Jewelry Company,
Various types of table
appointments from informal
family dinners to buffets,
afternoon teas, and formal
dinners will be discussed.
The class will be held in the
County Agricultural
Building in Perry on April
18th from 2:00 P.M. until
3:30 P.M.

Emmet Whelchel announces
a Lawn and Garden Clinic to
be held in Houston Mall,
Warner Robins, Friday April
14th from 2:30 P.M. Until
9:00 P.M., and on Saturday,
April 15th from 10:00 A.M.
until 12:00 Noon.
Whelchel said that
arrangements have been
made to have Extension
Specialists in the Mall to talk
with home owners about
almost any problem relating
to gardening, lawns, flowers,
or landscaping.

New Warner Robins
Flint EMC Office
To Open April 17
The new Warner Robins
District Office of Flint
Electric Membership
Corporation will open for
business on Monday, April
seventeenth, and all
operations will be tran
sferred to the new building at
1600 Elberta Road in Warner
Robins, it was announced
this week.
The new facility contains

approximately 17,000 square
feet, offers drive-up window
service, and night depository
for use after regular hours.
The hours will be the same
as at the old Watson
Boulevard office, 8:30 a.m.
untils p.m., Monday through
Friday. The Watson
Boulevard office will be
closed and the property
disposed of, according to
Flint EMC. Over 14,500
members are served in
Warner Robins and environs
by the local district office,
which has 52 employees.
Perryans Kin
Dies In Cordele
Tommy J. West. 62, died
Tuesday April 4 in the Crisp
County Hospital in Cordele
after a long illness. Services
were held at 2 p.m. Thursday
at Dekle Funeral Home in
Cordele with burial in
Sunnyside Cemetery there.
Mr. West was a lifelong
resident of Crisp County. He
was a police officer in
Cordele until his retirement
and was a member of the
Peace Officers Association.

widow, Mrs. Lola West of
Cordele; four sons, Wendell
West, Tommie Lee West and
Bennie West, all of Cordele,
and Jimmie West of Perry;
