Aid MDA Fund
At their annual meeting,
the Board of Directors of the
Roller Skating Rink
Operators’ Association of
America voted unanimously
to adopt the Muscular
Dystrophy Associations of
America, Inc. as an official
charity of RSROA. More
than 500 Roller Skating Rink
Operators assembled in
convention at the King's Inn
on Freeport, Grand Bahama
Island and enthusiastically
pledged their support of this
resolution
Mr. Robert Leavitt,
Operator of the Skateland
Roller Kink at 610 South
Houston Lake Road in
Warner Robins, announced
today that Skateland would
hold a Charity Skate Night to
benefit MDAA on August 8,
1972. This event will consist
of two sessions. The first
session will start at 7:00
P.M. and continue until 9:50
P.M. andthc second session
WRAMA Work Increases
An increased workload in
electronics maintenance has
been assigned to the Warner
Robins Air Materiel Area
(WRAMA) at Robins AFB as
part of a realignment of
depot maintenance
responsibilities among the
five installations of the Air
Force logistics Command
Additional electronic
workload will be added to
WRAMA by June 1973. This
workload previously has

The shift of electronics
repair to WRAMA is part of
an Air Force Logistics
Command program to
realign maintenance
workloads among the air
materiel areas to more ef
fectively and efficiently
utilize available and
programmed depot main
tenance resources, including
facilities and personnel.
No additional personnel
for WRAMA are to be
authorized for ac
complishment of this
requirement. Required
manpower spaces for the
additional electronic
workload at WRAMA will be
made available from
reductions in other workload
programs and through
improved shop and per
sonnel efficiency. Increased
jet aircraft and engine
repair work at the San An
tonio AMA will replace the
electronic workload to
transfer to WRAMA.
The added workload at
WRAMA will be primarily
the repair and modification
sixth consecutive year that
Adult Basic Education has
been made available by the
Houston County Board of
Education to adults, 16 years
and older, who have less
than the formal high school
diploma and-or who have a
desire to continue study for
personal development
A daily program for adults
who desire to study in the
areas of reading, arithmetic,
English, science and history
is available at the Pearl
Stephens Adult Center in
Warner Robins and at the
Houston High Adult Center
in Perry. Classes meet daily
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon,
Monday through Friday.
There is no charge for in
struction. Class instruction
is available on all levds
from no formal education to
less than the formal
diploma. These ABE classes
are held daily at Pearl
Stephens and Houston High
on a year-round basis.
Registration never closes.
Currently, instruction in
preparation for the General
Education Development
(GED) Test is underway.
The next formal GED test is
scheduled for the 14th and
15th of September, 1972.
Regular GED test is
scheduled for the 14th and

As BMA Head
Harold J. Runft of Warner
Robins recently was in
stalled as president of the
Better Management
Association in ceremonies at
the Robins AKB restaurant.
He succeeds Katie P.
liewis, Perry, who was the
first woman to serve as
president of BMA. She
presented Runft with the
gavel mid a plague which
contains the names of 15 past
presidents with additional
plates for 15 more who will
serve the remainder of the
BMA’s 30-year charter.
Runft and the following
new officers were installed
by Johnny Deep, Macon,
past president: Mary
Bowman, Warner Robins,
Vice President; Gerald
Peavy, Warner Rubins,
treasurer and Hilda Wilson.

In summing up the year s
accomplishments, Miss
Lewis stressed that the
theme was "Com
munication-Motivation-
Kducation and Management.
Miss l>ewis presided at the
installation meeting. Guest
speaker was Sam Willis of
ITocurement president of
the Procurement Toast
masters Hub. who spoke on
"The Fate of Freedom.” He
stated the seeds of anarachy
threaten to grow internally
and choke out the idea of
orderly government. He said
the fate of freedom hangs in
the balance.

making its stars and stripes
forever the symbol of
freedom ”
Jessie Cheek, chaplain,
gave the invocation.

Fall, 1972.
Presently, a reading
development class is being
given at the Pearl Stephens
Center in addition to GED
instruction and regular
learning lab programs. The
reading development
program is administered to
meet a special need for
RAFB.
A new program available
at both Warner Robins
(Pearl Stephens Adult
Center i and Perry I Houston
High Adult Center i has been
designed for the unemployed
and underemployed adults of
the Houston County area.
The program is one of pre
vocational orientation and
personal guidance with a
view to improving reading
comprehension, com
municative skills, functual
math, and grammar. Seven
basic subject categories are
