Her fiance is the son of

Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thames
Thames Honored On 50th
Wedding Anniversary
The children of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Thames of
Henderson, Ga. honored
their parents on the occasion
of their golden wedding
anniversary with a tea given
at the couples’ home on July
9th, 1972.
Mr. and Mrs. Thames
were married July 9, 1922 in
Fort Valley by Justice of the
Peace Bur nan.
Mrs. Thames is the former
Eva Pearl Arnold of Ft.
Valley and is the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Arnold. Mr. Thames is the
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Harman Thames of Ft.
Valley.
They have nine children
living; Bill, Jim , Ted, and
Doug Thames all of Hen
derson, Mrs. Jack Shugart of
Perry, Mrs. Stan Broom of
Warner Robins, Mrs. Frank • .
Tolbert, Mrs. Marshall
Gregory and Mrs. Gene
Glance all of Macon; 23
grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Thames chose for this
wonderful day a lovely teal
blue knit dress adorned with
two rhinestone buttons and a
beautiful pink orchid cor
sage given to her by her
children.
Mr. Thames wore a
handsome navy blue suit
with a lovely light blue shirt
and stripped tie. A white
carnation rested in his lapel.
The anniversary table was
covered with a white satin
son, Craig of Atlanta and
Mr.and Mrs. Austin Taylor
have returned from a two
week vacation at St.
Augustine, Fla.
Guests in the home ot Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Milby this
week are Mr. Milby s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesst
B. Milby, Sr. of Pennsauken,
N.J.
Mr. and Mrs. Chris Brown
of Atlanta spent the weekend
cloth trimmed with gold
ribbon and gold, yellow and
green flowers and white
candles. A lovely three
tiered cake trimmed in gold
and green flowers, white
swans, and a miniture couple
adorned the table.
The punch table covered
with white lace over white
satin held two gold can
delabrum with gold, green
and yellow flowers. A
beautiful silver punch bowl
on a silver tray surrounded
with the same kind of flowers
centered the table. Other
silver trays held petite fours
trimmed in green and gold,
nuts, mints, cheese straws
and other tid bits.
Eighty-five guests were
present to celebrate this
lovely affair with Mr. and
Mrs. Thames.
