She is a graduate of Ferry
High School and is currently a
student at Cornell University

surgery. She says she is doing

The Clinchfield Assembly of
(lod Church will hold Vacation
Bible School the week of June
17-21, 9:00 A.M. to 12 noon for
ages 4 to 15. Special features
of the Bible School will be Mrs.
Dorothy Johnson and Kicky
presenting the Gospel through
ventriloquism, seno-felt Bible
stories and music. The closing
program will be held Friday,
June 21, at 8:00 P.M.
Registration will be at regular
services of the church or call
987-3287. The public is invited
to attend.
The Baptist Young Women
of the First Baptist Church of
Hayneville will hold a fund
raising bake sale Saturday,
June 22, beginning at 10:00
AM. in Hawkinsville and
Perry. Orders may be placed
for any special cakes desired

was attractively decorated
with spring flowers in shades
of yellow. A kitchen clock was
presented to the guest of honor
by the hostesses.
On May 23, Mrs. B.W.
Bozeman, Mrs. Bert
Bozeman, and Mrs. Alvin B.
Gibson entertained for Miss
Whitehurst at a recipe shower
at the Bozeman home in Holly
Hills. Twenty friends of the
bride-elect were present for
the evening. Miss Whitehurst
received a recipe box in which
the favorite recipe of each
guest was placed and a
wooden cracker tray and
cheese knife.
A luncheon in Atlanta at the
home of Mrs. Charles M, Wood
who was assisted by Mrs.
Timothy A. Yelton was an
event of May 25. Covers were
laid for twelve guests. The
hostesses presented a crystal
jam jar to their honoree.
Mrs. Richard Talton, Mrs.
Theodore F. Ursrey, Mrs.
Allen P. Whipple, and Mrs.
John T, Turner honored Miss
Whitehurst on June 2 at a
coffee at Mrs. Talton’s home.
Thirty-five guests greeted the
honoree and hostesses. Miss
Whitehurst received a luggage
stand from the hostesses and
many other lovely gifts.

children were the guests last
week of her mother, Mrs. E.J.
Scoper in Mobile, Ala. Mrs.
Scoper had spent the previous
two weeks in Perry with the
Jones family.
Rev. and Mrs. Elick
Bullington were in Oxford
Saturday to attend graduation
exercises at Emory at Oxford
at which time Steve Bullington
received the Associate in Arts
degree. He left Wednesday for
Swainsboro where he will
serve as youth director at the
Swainsl)oro United Methodist
Church for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mat
thews, Mrs. Jim Thompson
and daughters, Mindy and
Angela, spent several days
last week at Orlando, Fla.,
and Disney World. They were
joined there by Horace
Matthews and son Matt. Mr.
and Mrs. Matthews, Mrs.
Thompson and daughters
spent Sunday in Decatur with
the James Matthews family.
Mr. and Mrs. Moody Mulkey
have returned from West
Palm Beach, Fla., where they
visited Mrs. Mulkey’s sister,
Mrs. James W. Vann. Miss
Twila Mulkey of Miami joined
her parents in West Palm
Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. B E. Dennard,
Sr., and Keith Lockerman
visited Mr. and Mrs. Rodney
Lockerman in Clarksville,
Tenn., last week. While there
they attended the 1974
graduating class where
Rodney Lockerman received
his Bachelor of Science degree
in Marketing from Austin
Peavy State University.

entertained at a tea Sunday
afternoon, June 9, at the Perry
Country Club, Close friends of
the family were invited to call
between the hours of 3:30 and
5 to meet Paul Moller of
Sarasota, Fla., and members
of his family. Claudia Croom
Stanford and Mr. Moller will
be married in August.

honored at a miscellaneous
shower on Saturday, June 8,
by Mrs. Don Parkinson and
Mrs, Frank Leonard, Jr. Mrs.
Parkinson’s home was the
setting for the delightful af
ternoon tea. Miss VanFossen
and her mother, Mrs. Glenn
VanFossen were presented
beautiful yellow daisy cor
sages upon their arrival.
Twenty-five friends of the
honoree and her mother en
joyed the party and the
delicious refreshments served
by the hostesses. White cloths
covered the tables and a white
parasol decorated the gift
table. Miss VanFossen was
presented the sugar and
creamer to her casual china
by the hostesses and she
received many other lovely
gifts,

on August 10.
