family reunion at Lake
Blackshear Sunday, June 9.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Bunnell of Kokomo, Indiana,
are visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Louis Ragan, Sr.
Friends extend their
deepest sympathy to the
Ragan families in the death of
their uncle, Chester Pearce
Smith of California.
Leon Ragan is a patient in
Coliseum Park Hospital in
Macon. He underwent eye
surgery Monday and is sup
posed to return home Thur
sday.
Mrs. Neva Sykes and Mr.
and Mrs. Guy Bridges of
Macon visited Mr. and Mrs.
Jerry Sanders and Miles in
Dallas, Texas, last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lovel
and Mrs. Wylene Adams all of
Leesburg, Fla., visited Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Davis over the
weekend.
The Rev. Rastus Salter of
Warner Robins spoke to the
Henderson Baptist
Methodist Youth Enjoy
First Trip In New Bus
The junior and senior youth
groups of the Perry United
Methodist Church initiated the
new church bus and their new
youth director, Jim
McElhrath, last weekend on a
“first" for both. The first
excursion in the summer
youth program was the
Ichetucknee River tubing trip.
The group left the church
around noon Friday with plans
to camp at the KOA Kam
pground near Valdosta. This
was a most enjoyable part of
the trip as they were invited to
join another church group
camping there for a
singspiration in the late
evening.
Brotherhood Monday evening,
June 10, at 8 P.M. at the
church. It was family night
and 45 people enjoyed good
food and fellowship with the
Lord.
Donnie Pickard who is in the
U S. Navy and David Horton
of Grovania visited for the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Bryant
Rising early the next
morning, they continued to
north Florida and the
Ichetucknee. The river is
spring-fed and crystal clear. It
is great sport to float down the
river for many miles, ap
proximately three hours, on
an intertube. The only incident
that shadowed the good time
was the sight of a snake
hanging on a tree limb over
the water.
The adults who went along
to try to outlast the ap
proximately thirty boys and
girls were Mr. and Mrs,
Walter Thompson and Angie,
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, Bill
Montgomery, Mike Jacobs,
visited Mr and Mrs. Charles
■Sloeumb of Jacksonville, Fla.
Their son, Sport, spent the
week
Mrs. Winifred Trice, Stacie
and Todd visited relatives in
Griffin, Ga., last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hollan,
Lisa and Rhonda of New
Castle, Ind., are visiting
relatives this week.
Jim McElhrath, Mrs. Bill
Rhodarmer and Mrs. Ike
Bledsoe.
