the Fellowship Hall of the Perry United Methodist
Church sponsored by the children and youth
departments of the church. Make plans now to
attend the Craft Shop, Spaghetti Supper, White
Elephant Sale and Sweet Shop. Activities begin at
9:30.

Army Staff Sergeant Roger
D. Lusk, of Perry, Ga., and
other members of the 25th
Infantry Division will soon be
marching to the tune of
“Waltzing Matilda” in
Australia.
Under the Pacific Bond
Exchange Program, Com
pany C, Ist Battalion of the
division’s 19th infantry was
chosen to train with the
Australian Army.
During the six-week
training period, troops will
participate in a large-scale
exercise involving Australian,
New Zealand, U.S. and United
Kingdom forces.
The company will wind up
its stay with a five-day tour of
Sydney before returning to
Hawaii June 26.
Sgt. Lusk, son of John R.
Lusk, Perry, is a Platoon
Sergeant with the company.
His wife. Diametta, lives at
1331 Kuahaka St., Pearl City,
Hawaii.
Army Private Earl G.
Lawson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
George J, Lawson, Perry, Ga.,
is assigned to the 2nd Armored
Division at Ft. Hood, Tex.
Pvt. Lawson is a Cannoneer
in the Division’s Battery A, Ist
Battalion, 92nd Field Ar
tillery.
His wife, Beth, lives at 1323
Jackson Lane in Perry.

Mr. and Mrs, Albert C.
Skellie and children, Blaire,
Cindy and Joel, of Houston,
Texas, were guests of his
parents for ten days. While
here they attended Sue
Skellie’s wedding in Richland,
Ga. They returned home
Tuesday, June 18.
Trooper E.L. Kuhns of the Perry State Patrol
Post has completed an intensive course in Pursuit
Driver Training at the Road Atlanta Race Track
near Gainesville, Georgia. During the four day
program, Trooper Kuhns learned new techniques
about pursuit, defensive and economy driving
from a team of racing experts. Public Safety
Commissioner Colonel Herman Cofer commended
Trooper Kuhns for his excellent showing during
the program.
