Miss Sue Lambert of Perry last weekend was First Runner-up in the RSROA
Southern Regional Skate Queen Contest, held in Riverdale, Georgia. Sue will represent
the state of Georgia in the National Skate Queen Contest to be held the second week in
August in Fort Worth, Texas.
There were nine contestants from Georgia among the 26 hopefuls from five
southeastern states. Since the winner was from Kentucky, Sue will as top finisher
among the Georgia contestants, represent the state in the finals. Judging was on
beauty, poise, and personality. Contestants were 16 years of age and older.
The Lake Joy Roller Rink, who sponsored Miss Lambert, will hold a benefit to raise
funds for Sue's expenses to Texas. Presently Sue is involved in free-style skating
competition in Riverdale currently underway.
