* Annual Stembridge Reunion Held Here
The annual Stembridge
family reunion was held on
Sunday, June 13, 1976 at
Ochlahatchee Club House
in Perry. Everyone en
joyed the beautiful
weather, the wonderful
fellowship and the fun.
The reunion opened with
the registration of
members of the family.
Then the president, Mrs.
Blanche Davis, of Cochran
'‘led in the singing of "My
Country 'Tis of Thee" and
afterwards gave the in
vocation. A delicious
basket dinner was served
from a long table covered
with red, white and blue
tablecloths with vases of
small U S. flags and ivy
throughout the length. The
walls contained patriotic
shields and made the
dining area most effective
and in keeping with the
Bicentennial celebration.
Following dinner there
a short business
session with Mrs. Davis
presiding. She read a
memoriam to Mrs. Annie
Maude S. Mosely who was
the only deceased member
during 1976. She also read
the news report of events
taking place since the 1975
reunion.
Mrs. Mallie Stembridge
Thomas of Newton,
Alabama, was recognized
and given a crystal pitcher
for being the oldest person
present. She is 85. Rebeka
*of Mr. and Mrs. Joneal Lee
of Warner Robins won the
gift for being the youngest.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fisher
of Cochran presented a
delightful program
featuring the children
present. Taking part were
Scott Lee, Joanne Phillips,
Jarrod Straukas, Jon
Dykes, and Jennifer
Richardson. Miss Laurie
Stembridge of Hawkin
sville, gave a reading
while the children mar
.ched in with flags. At
~ter wards Mrs. Fisher
introduced Lea Fisher, and
Jeffery Fisher costumed
as Mr. and Mrs. George
Washington which brought
down the house. American
the Beautiful was sung at
the conclusion of the
program.
Gordon Scarborough, Jr.
qf Perry then gave
"prizes" to each person.
He was assisted by Ronald
Rowland of Warner
Robins. Piano music by
Lloyd Stembridge of
Macon and Trumpet music
by Victor Rowland of
Decatur was enjoyed all
through the afternoon. The
reunion closed with the
singing of the Battle Hymn
of the Republic.

Natalie, and Mrs. Roy

Pvt. Carl David
Richardson, son of Mr. and
Mrs. David Richardson
completed his basic
training at Fort Jackson,
S.C. on June 3, 1976. Carl is
in the First Brigade 2nd
Battalion. He graduated
from Perry High School,
March 1, 1976.

his graduation ceremony
in South Carolina.
