The double ring
ceremony took place in a
setting of tall pines before
an arch covered with
spring (lowers in a light
misting spring rain. The
bride's sisters, Mrs. Jan
Bembry and Mrs. Pam
Kersey were her at
fendants and her eldest
sister, Ms. Kerry Cansler
was her matron of honor.
They wore floor length
gowns of spring colors, and
each carried a single
yellow mum Their only
jewelry was gold
bracelets, a gift of the
bride.
The bride's nephew,
Master Leigh Kersey, was
the ring bearer. Mr,
Roughton attended his son
as best man
Miss Strong was
presented in marriage by
her father. She was
exquisite in her white,
floor length gown of light
v\eight blended polyester
linen which was bias cut
with inserts of imported
Belgium lace The bishop
sleeves and bodice were
overlayed with Belgium
lace and satin and trim
med with satin buttons.
The fitted bodice was
belted at the waist with a
linen sash and the A-line
skirt ended in a full flounce
ruffle Her face was
framed by her whife straw
hat covered with whife
lace and chiffon. She
carried a bouquet of
brightly colored spring
flowers.
For her daughter's
wedding, Mrs. Strong
chose a blue floral print
gown of sheer organza
overlaid on blue satin. She
wore a blue orchid cor
sage. The groom's mother
wore a gown of pale mint
green jersey knit com
plimented by a corsage of
green orchids. Mrs.
Eugene Lashley, grand
mother of the bride, wore a
beige and white knit gown
and the groom's grand
mother, Mrs. Charles
Luther Kersey, Sr., was
attired in a light rose pink
suit. Both grandmothers
wore matching orchid
corsages
Reception
Immediately following
the garden wedding, a
poolside reception was
held The five tiered, 300
pound heart shaped cake
made by the bride's sister,
Ms. Cansler, was of
twenty one individual
heart shaped cakes.
Exquisite handmade white
orchids, roses, and daisies
adorned the layers.
Cascades of these life like
flowers were accompanied
by handmade mint green
grapes and handmade
sugar wedding bells and
hearts of various sizes.
The bride's grand
mother, Mrs. Eugene
Lashley, made many of the
delicious tidbits for the
reception which were
served on silver trays trom
a table covered in green
satin overlaid with mint
green lace This sen
timental choice by the
bride was the same table
setting as was used for her
grandparents, Mr and
Mrs. Eugene Lashley on
♦ heir fiftieth wedding
anniversary celebration in
May, 1971. The tables were
decorated by silver can
dlelabra carrying
bouquets of spring flowers.
Oriental truit punch was
served from silver punch
bowls.
Ms. Jill Pugh presided at
the registry table laid in
yellow satin topped with
pale yellow lace. On the
table was a white circular
tiered anniversary candle
covered in handmade
miniature blue roses and
white wedding bells made
tor the bride by hei matron
of honor
Mrs. Margaret Bragg,
Mrs. Wanda Carter, Mrs.
Teresa Clifton, and Mrs.
Amanda Aydlett served
the reception guests. Rice
bags in a rainbow of colors
and trimmed in pastel
satin bows were given to
the guests from colored
straw baskets by nieces
nephews, and young
friends of the bride, Staci
Bembry, Tracee Bembry,
Lisa Kersey, Leighanne
Cansler, Carey Cansler
Marla McCulloch and
Christopher McCulloch
Mr. and Mrs. Roughton
left on a wedding trip to the
mountains of North
Georgia and Gatlinburg
Tennessee For the trip,
Mrs Roughton chose a
striking black and white
casual outfit.
The couple is now
residing in the former
family home of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Luther
Kersey, Sr at Bonaire.

Miss Cynthia Strong,

Cindy with a beautiful pine
rose bud corsage. A
delicious refreshment
plate accompanied by
punch to carry out the
color scheme was served
to the guests.
The hostesses gift to the
bride to be was matching
sheets and pillow
cases
On May sth, Cindy was
honored by Miss Karen
Aydlett and Mrs. Amanda
Aydlett at the home of Miss
Karen Aydlett with a
recipe shower.
The hostesses asked

The club house was
beautifully decorated with
spring flowers and ferns.
Ms Jill Pugh invited the
guests to sign the guest
book before being served
an assortment of dainty
refreshments
The hostesses were

Tom Chapman, Mrs. Jerry
Davis, Jr., Mrs. Chester
Edwards, Mrs. Harold

Green, Mrs Edwin Pierce,

beautiful silver an
niversary bell inscribed
"May 22, 1976."
Mrs. John Warner and
Mrs. Steve Booher were
co hostesses at Eastgate
Branch, The Bank of Perry
community room for a
miscellaneous shower for
Cindy on May 15th. She
was presented a unique
green and gold corsage
made of napkin rings.
As guests arrived, their
gifts were placed in a
miniature wooden car
crafted by the husband of
Mrs. Warner. This sym
bolized the soon to be
newlywed's car and was
appropriately decorated.
After playing bridal
games, the hostesses
served delicious refresh
ments to the guests.
The hostesses' gift to the
bride to be was a coffee
maker.
The wedding rehearsal
dinner was given by the
groom's parents at the
New Perry Hotel. The
table was beautifully
decorated with candelabra
of pink and white car
nations interspersed with
white baby's breath.
Places were set for twenty
two guests.

Banking and Psychology
classes through the

Banking.
Formerly of Perry, she
resides with her husband
Ben and their six year old
daughter, Traci in Apopka,
Fla. Her husband is a sales
representative for the
Medusa Cement Co. She ||
was chosen by the officers
of the bank because of her
attitude, cooperation and
performance.
