So after attending

lure of golf had caused a
change in career back to
his original plans.
The 6'2", 175 pounder
began his professional
career in April, 1961 with
touring pro Jim Cassia,
working as assistant golf

In June, 1968, Sandler
became pro at the Warm
Springs course, and stayed
there until coming to
Perry. He has become
wellknown as an honorary
member of the National
Amputee Golf Association.
His membership was a
result of "outstanding
contributions" to the
society, according to its
trustee, George Beckmann
of Warm Springs,
Activities that Sandler
has made a part of his
work include: increasing
membership, improving
members' games through
lessons and clinics, im
proving maintenance of
courses, setting up tour
nament schedules, and
operating proshops.
Talking about Perry
Country Club, Henry says,
"This is a golf-playing city.
More people play in rain
than I've ever seen
anywhere. They love their
golf here, and take it
seriously."
He adds, "This is a
beautiful club. The people
are just regular, down to
earth folks. Now I have
worked at uppity places
before, but Perry Country
Club is the type I had
hoped it would be. We're
really pleased to be here."
