Happy Birthday to
Wendy Ratterree, her
sixteenth birthday was
Sunday. Saturday
evening Wendy's grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Cook, Mr. and

had supper with the
Ratterrees' to celebrate
Wendy's birthday.
Sunday her other
grandparents Mr. and
Mrs. Harlen Ratterree,
had dinner with Wendy
and her family to help her

Houston County Hospital.
Mr. Marvin Fowler
attended National Guard
training this past week in
Thomaston, Ga. Hazel
and the boys were glad to
see him return.
Mrs. Shelby Etheridge

she received while she
was in the hospital. Your

Meet Mar. 14
The March 14 meeting
of Houston County
Homemakers will be held
at Flint Electric in
Warner Robins. The
meeting will begin at
10:00 a.m.
The County Dress
Revue with winners from
each club will be
narrated by Miss Lynn
Young. Mrs. Bobbie
Hickson will present her
program on the history of
Houston County during
the morning session.

assignments are for club
members information.

Each club will furnish a
door prize and each
member is to bring a

The afternoon session
will be a program on use

To Hold
Workshop
The Middle Georgia
Chapter of Ikenban In
ternational have a treat
in store for the March
meeting to be held in the
Social Hall of the All
Saints Episcopal Church
in Warner Robins, March
15, Wednesday at 1000
hours. Bill Horton, will
present a program and
workshop on bonsai.
Dr. Horton is an expert
on the art of
miniaturizing shrubs and
trees. The art of bonsai is
Japanese in origin, which
makes it a first cousin to
Ikebana.
As the workshop will be
for miniature shrubs or
trees, members are
asked to bring small
containers, small shrubs
or trees, wire and all
impliments plus moss if
they have it on hand. Dr.
Horton will furnish the
soil.
Warner Robins Art
Assn. will feature
J apanese flower
arranging as the
program for the next
meeting 8 March at 7:30
in the Old Library (the
foyer of the offices of the
Dept, of Leizure Ser
vices).
Presenting the
program will be Takaya
Bryson, instructor in
Ikebana in the Ichiyo
school. She will
demonstrate both the
classical and the modern
contemporary designs.
Guests are welcome.

Perry have jointly an
nounced that the Georgia
General Assembly has
approved some $27,500
each for grants to the
Happy Hour Workshop
Training Center for the
mentally retarded in
Warner Robins and the
Houston Speech and
Hearing School.
Barker said the two
schools will be able to use
the money tor purposes
they consider necessary.
"These two facilities

County and Middle
Georgia will be able to

To Review ‘79 Draft
Agency On Aging To
Hold Public Hearing
A public hearing to
review the draft of the
"Area Plan for Aging-
Fiscal Year 1979" has
been scheduled by the
Area Agency on Aging
Advisory Committee of
the Middle Georgia Area
Planning and Develop
ment Commission. The
hearing will be held in the
HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL THURS., MAR 9, 197«,

ditional space to the
centers and to purchase
scientific testing
