Lillie Ann Stone and
Ned Baxter Nichols were
united in marriage
Saturday, March 18, 1978,
at the First Baptist
Church. Rev. Dan Ariail
officiated at the double
ring ceremony.
The bride is the
daughter of Mrs. An
drew J. Weidel and the
late M Sgt. Weidel. The
groom's parents are Mr.
and Mrs.- Willard B.
Nichols, of Winfield,
Alabama.
The beautiful selection

Neal Darsey served the
groom as best man. The
groomsmen were Ted
Nichols, brother of the
groom from Winfield,
Alabama and Robert
Proctor of Perry.
Mrs. M.L. Green, Jr. of
Macon, cousin of the
bride was matron of
honor. She wore a gown of
blue and beige print knit,
fashioned as the brides.
and beige hat trimmed
with blue satin ribbon and
blue flower. She carried a
bouquet of blue car
nations, daisies and
baby's breath with
streamers of blue ribbon.
Given in marriage by
her uncle, Mr. C.M.
Daniel of Perry, the bride
was lovely in an elegant
beige silk gown fashioned
in a peasant style,
trimmed with rows of
blue, white and beige
satin ribbon and beige
and white lace. Blue
flowers were pinned in
her hair. She carried a
cascade of blue car
nations, daisies and
baby's breath with long
blue ribbon streamers.
Mrs. Weidel chose a
blue knit street length
dress for her daughter's
wedding. As she was
escorted to her pew she
was accompanied by the
bride's young son,
Leighton Patrick Stone.
Mrs. Nichols, the groom's
mother chose street
length dress of rose
colored knit. Mrs. H.M.
Wilcher, of Glenwood,
Georgia maternal
grandmother of the bride
chose a black and white
knit two piece dress.
Each pinned a cym
bidium corsage to her
shoulder.
Reception
Following the wedding
ceremony, guests were
invited to attend the
reception honoring the
bridal couple in the
church fellowship hall
given by Mrs. Weidel.
Mrs. Macy Skinner
welcomed and received
the guests at the door.
Mrs. Charlotte Black,
of Atlanta, and Miss
Francis Nichols, of
Winfield, Alabama, at
tended the wedding book
as the guests registered.
A beige basket in
tertwined with blue
ribbon and filled with rice
bags was placed on the
book table.
The refreshment and
book tables were covered
with blue taffeta cloths.
Candelabras with blue
candles were placed on
each end of the brides
table. In the center was
the 3-tiered wedding
cake, topped with bells,
and delicately embossed
with an orchid and other
flowers of blue, white and
beige. Silver dishes of
mints and nuts were
placed on the table.
Cutting and serving the
cake were Mrs. Tom
Adams and Mrs. Jon
Huguley.
The refreshment table
held the crystal punch
bowl, silver trays of
sandwiches and cheese
straws and a floral
arrangement. Mrs. Phil
Smith and Mrs. Neal
Darsey served at this
table.
Mrs. L.B. Moody, Jr.,
Mrs. J.P. Oldham, Miss
Kimberly Poole and Miss
Toni Pierce also assisted
in serving.
When the couple left for
a wedding trip to
Charleston, South
Carolina, the bride was
wearing a blue knit street
length dress with blue
accessories. Her corsage
was presented to her at
the rehearsal dinner by

Officers Elected
By Tsungani Club
The April meeting of
the Tsungani Club was
held Tuesday night, April
11, 1978 at the Eastgate
Branch of the Bank of
Perry. Mrs. Dot Sandefur
gave an inspiring
devotional before Mrs.
Kathy West opened the
business portion of the
meeting.
The new officers
elected for the 1978-79
club year are: Mrs.
Sheryl Green, president;
Mrs. Sara Smith, vice
president; Mrs. Pat
Nicholson, secretary;
Mrs. Linda Hertrich,
treasurer; Mrs. Shelby
Arnold, reporter
historian; and Mrs.
Dianna Williams,
parliamentarian. In
stallation of these new
officers will take place at
the May luncheon to be
held at the New Perry
Hotel on May 13, 1978.

W.C. Cawthon of Perry.
He is a 1977 graduate of
Perry High School, and is
employed by the Bibb
Company of Fort Valley.
The wedding is planned
for Saturday May 13 at
the Perry United
Methodist Church with
reception to follow in the
church social hall.
Also at this time, the club
will honor the Out
standing Member for this
year who was selected by
secret ballot.
Refreshments were
served by Mrs. Dot
Sandefur and Mrs. Janice
Williams hostesses.

Perry Jr. High Students Tour
Ala. Space And Rocket Center
On March 24th and
25th, 76 I.S.C.S. students,
5 teachers, and 1
assistant principal went
on a field trip to Hunt
sville, Alabama. The trip
was open to all 9th grade
I.S.C.S. students in
Houston County. I.S.C.S.
is a science class for
gifted students who are
allowed to work at their
own speed. The main
events of the trip con
sisted of a visif to the
Alabama Space and
Rocket Center and a bus
tour of the NASA Mar
shall Space Flight
Center.
Eleven students went
from Perry Junior High
School with their teacher,
Coach Dicky Erwin, and
they were: David Arnall,
Gary Davis, Jan Garrett,
Tena Green, Ed
Huckaby, Amanda
Moody, Wes Parker, Lisa
Peavy, Jill Thomason,
Scott Westmoreland, and
Detres Romubio.
The Center has a
collection of Exhibits and
Rockets. There are also
shows and simulated
space rides.
The next morning the
Bridge
Winners
Bridge played at
Houston Lake Country
Club this week produced
the following high
scorers.
Wednesday morning
duplicate; Marge Carson
and Doris Hulbert, first;
Johnny Thompson and
Kopie O'Neal second;
Claire Beckham and
Mimi Spivey tied with Jo
Dunning and Marion
Stubbs for third place.
Thursday night Eddy
and George Vosipka tied
with Polly and Adna
Mohr for first and second
places. Doris and David
Hulbert, third, and
Marion Stubbs and Kopie
O'Neal, fourth.
HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL THURS., APR 20, 1978,
students went on the bus
tour. On the tour they saw
several large buildings
that are used to test
rockets for space travel.
They also saw a mock-up
of the Skylab and the
actual Space Shuttle
Orbiter Enterprise that
