“Showtime 78” Coming To Perry
The YoMen Club of Perry High School will
be presenting SHOWTIME ’7B on the
evenings of April 27th, 28th, and 29th at 8:00
p.m. in the Perry Annex Auditorium. Tickets
may be purchased from Sinyard’s, Inc., the
Eastgate Branch of the Bank of Perry, the
Perry High School central office, Perry High
Band Boosters Club members, or from the
YoMen. The price of admission is $3.00 for
imnn in.
‘Alleluia ’ April 26

First Baptist
Sets Musical
Rev. Dan Ariail, pastor
of the Perry First Baptist
Church, announced this
week that the adult and
youth choirs of the church
will present the musical
production, "Alleluia!"
Wednesday, April 26 at
7:30 p.m.

Name Officers
The Delphian Club held
its annual business
meeting, Thursday, April
13 at the home of Mrs.
Houser Gilbert with Mrs.
Joe Gayle and Mrs.
Thomas Mason as co
hostesses.
Mrs. Earl Smith,
President, presided over
the meeting. Reports of
all standing committees
were given at this time.
The club voted to
donate SIO.OO to St. Jude's
Childrens Hospital.
Mrs. Jack Miller
reported that the club
would go to Westville on
May 6. She gave the
details ot the trip and
asked that members
notify her by May 2 if

Women Meet
The United Methodist
Women of The
Crossroads Church met
Wednesday, April 12 in
the community room of
the Eastgate Bank of
Perry. Mrs. David Phelps
welcomed the eleven
members and two guests.
The devotiona I
message was brought by
Mrs. Tom Jones who used
"The Praying Hands" as
her subject which was
taken from the book,
Christ and the Fine Arts.
She used this subject to
acquaint the members
with the newly revised
prayer chain which the
United Methodist Women
organized at the
Crossroads Church.
Mrs. Eddie Fleming,
mission coordinator,
requested that members
bring small items for
craft materials to be sent
to the Open Door Com
munity Center in
Savannah and used

Pvt. Marion Riley,
daughter of Mrs. Ida M.
Riley, 706 Patterson St.,
Perry, Ga., recently
completed a 14-week
telecommunications cen
ter specialist course at
the Army Signal School,
Fort Gordon, Ga.
Students received
words and music of the
production are by Bill
and Gloria Gaither and
Ronn Huff. He said the
event is directed by Bob
Brewer, narrated by Bill
Milby, with sound
provided by Tim Nall.
Persons participating
in the production include
they plan to make the
trip.
Mrs. Carolyn Smith
gave the report from the
nominating committee.
Nominated and elected as
officers tor the 1978-79
club year are: President,
Mrs. Addis Colvin; Vice-
President, Mrs. Cohen
Walker; Secretary, Mrs.
Helen Mason; Treasurer,
Mrs. Seaton Carpenter;
Parliamentarian, Mrs.
Houser Gilbert. Elected
as Directors were: Mrs.
Carolyn Smith and Mrs.
Dot Green.
The meeting was closed
by the president with an
inspiring thought titled,
"Importance of Each
Day".
Christmas cards that will
go to an overseas
mission.
Mrs. Phelps announced
that the husband-wife
banquet will be held on
May 6 at the Twentieth
Century Restaurant in
Warner Robins. Mr.
George Lahood of
valdosta will be the
speaker. She also
requested that new
volunteers to the nursing
home to please contact
Mrs. Tom Odom or Mrs.
D.A. Phelps.
The program tor the
evening was brought by
Fred and Christine
Buchanan of the Concord
United Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan
spent time last summer
at the Red Bird Mission in
the mountains of Ken
tucky. They related their
experiences there with
slides.
Delicious refreshments
were served by Mrs. Tom
Odom.

Riley entered the Army
in October 1977.
The private is a 1977
graduate of Perry High
School. Her father,
Marcus Riley, lives at 701

SHOWTIME ’7B promises to be a spec
tacular, sound-filled history of twentieth
century music. The show provides music for
all ages: popular love songs of the 1900’s, a
’so’s segment which deals with the evolution
of rock-n-roll, and disco beats of the ’7o’s.
